Summary

Satisfying fighting game, worth playing.

The Good

I loved the Kabuki fighting, the combos, the blood, the 3D, and the animations shown between each fight. I also really love how you can trade warriors with points, and how the system is interactive, and how you can have your own Kabuki empire. Also for a 2001 game on the original Xbox, I think that the graphics are pretty impressive. I also like the controls. It is really cool how the Kabuki Warriors wave their hair, and I like the FMV as well as the title screen, which I think is awesome.

The Bad

The game is great but it's just missing something. I can't put my finger on it, but it's probably the motion in the fighting, probably the frame rate it's anyone's guess, but the controls are real good. Yeah I really, really just can't put my finger on it, something to do with, I don't know, maybe the motion in the fighting, the speed, the frame rate it really, really, really just is anybody's guess, I just cannot put my finger round it, If it wasn't for that thing that I couldn't put my finger on, this game would get a perfect score from me, but unfortunately, something that I can't put my finger on stops the potential of having a perfect fighter, something that Kabuki Warriors 2 on the Xbox 360, hopefully will improve upon.

The Bottom Line

A satisfying fighting game for the Xbox with good graphics for a sixth generation game, though it probably won't cut it for the 360, it's worth a buy for the 360, and a few basic improvements, and it could be one of the best fighting games ever. It really shows off the Japanese art of Kabuki to the video gaming world, which is always a pro for any game. Worth a buy? Yeah, this game really is worth buying, and it is great how this fighter shows of the Japanese art of Kabuki. You don't get many games that teach people about culture! But anyhow, this is a great game, with great fighting, solid fighting, impressive graphics, and is really fun, something that I can't put my finger on stops it being perfect, but it's really worth buying, if you plan on getting an Xbox (why wouldn't you?) pick this game up, and look forward to the sequel. Great game anyhow.
