Just Adventure (Dec 15, 2005)
Peter Jackson’s King Kong is the most exciting, immersive game you will play this year, and almost any other year for that matter. Hopefully, it will set the standards for future movie-based games much as the 1933 film set standards for future generations of film-makers. So play as Kong, play as man, but just play.
Extreme Gamer (Dec 06, 2005)
Peter Jackson's King Kong is one of the most intense experiences I've had with game in a while. This is for sure buy for the Xbox, or Xbox 360. The plot doesn't let go, it grabs you and throws you into the heart of Skull Island, surviving as man and dominating as Kong. King Kong deserves you attention you will be amazed.

Kuuluisuudesta haaveileva Carl Denham järjestää kuvausmatkan tutkimattomalle Pääkallosaarelle, sillä saarelta saatava filmimateriaali riittäisi avaamaan Denhamille elokuvateollisuuden hohdokkaat portit. Naispääosaan Denham palkkaa työttömän vaudeville-näyttelijä Ann Darrow'n. Tutkimusmatkaa johtaa näytelmäkirjailija Jack Driscoll.
X-Power (Nov 15, 2005)
It's man versus beast captured in astonishing gameplay, creating one great memory after another. It's too bad it only clocks in at six hours. The final scene in NY is a letdown, as well. Regardless, this shouldn't steer you away from one of the most intense adventures to date.

But by the end of King Kong there's still plenty to go back and see; and there are some standout moments that will probably stay with you forever. As a piece of gaming entertainment it's well worth buying regardless of what you might think of the movie - but assuming it's the action blockbuster it promises to be, it'll serve as the perfect accompaniment, fusing thrilling first-person combat with some of the most explosive hand to hand sequences you can imagine. If only all movie-based games were this entertaining.

I will say that the alternate ending is well worth unlocking, but even that isn't enough to satisfy my urge for a really compelling conclusion. Still, despite its brevity and the somewhat shoddy ending, there are many moments in this game that I will remember for a lifetime, and I commend the developers for creating an amazing experience, I just wish there were more of it.

The A.V. Club (Jan 04, 2006)
Dispensing with the film's opening act—a smart choice, since the task of signing a film's leading lady is difficult to express via button-mashing—the game spends most of its time on Skull Island, and it adds significantly to the film's prehistoric wonderland. In a clever innovation, you either play first-person as Jack Driscoll, the heroic screenwriter, or third-person as Kong himself, though the big ape doesn't come into play until the 11th chapter, and is only in a few sequences thereafter. The bulk of the adventure is behind Jack's sights, which is just as well, since Kong's movements are disappointingly labored and Jack's limited ground-level perspective enhances the creatures' size and intensity.

Despite the shortness and a handful of scripting errors, Peter Jackson's King Kong is in many ways a huge step forward in level design and presentation, it's beautiful and, most importantly, it's fun.

Game Critics (Jan 25, 2006)
Unfortunately, games are supposed to be played and not simply looked at or listened to. King Kong is short and still manages to be a flawed and redundant gaming experience. This isn't a bad game—just one that manages to underachieve in a lot of ways. In a crowded holiday gaming season where countless good games will go unplayed, most gamers can safely skip this one and wait until it hits the bargain bin.

A solid game that goes on just a bit too long. The game may turn out to be better than the movie though, as if you can put up with it’s flaws, you’ll find a decent game here. Give it a rental. Not your standard horrible movie to game transfer.
