PC Action (Germany) (Jun, 2007)
Gameplanet (Jun 22, 2007)
Overall, Forza Motorsport 2 is a slick presentation, within which a pretty powerful racing simulator is tucked away. It's accessible enough for non-gamers and old gamers alike, challenging enough to keep even the hardcore fans going for months. As Forza Motorspot 2 is published by Microsoft, the low price point makes it even more attractive and essential to anyone attracted to fast cars or close racing. The negatives in the graphical and sound department do not outweigh the positives of a solid frame rate and an even more solid physics and driving model - and to top it off, this game has enough content even offline to keep you satisfied for quite some time.
GameSpy (Jun 01, 2007)
FM2 is a finely crafted, fun, and extremely detailed racing game that will reward those who stick with it. It really can teach you to appreciate the nuances of racing and may even renew your love of cars. For a game like this, we think that's the best compliment we can give it.

OK, so Forza 2 doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it didn’t need too. We bet even Clarkson would enjoy this one.
Snackbar-Games.com (Jun 29, 2007)
Despite being a racer with one wheel firmly rooted in simulation, Forza Motorsport 2 is simply too polished, too accessible, and most of all too fun to not recommended to just about any Xbox 360 owner. Whereas most games of this type are seemingly positioned from the onset to appeal to a niche audience, here is a game that goes to great lengths to appeal to a wider group of players that might not ordinarily find enjoyment in a sim-style racer. Forza Motorsport was one of the best racing games for the original Xbox, and here its sequel does the same for its console, resulting in one of the best racing experiences this year.
G4 TV: X-Play (2007)
In addition to the amazingly detailed level of car customization you can do under the hood to affect car performance, Forza’s popular painting tools are back, with even more stencils and paint layers from which to craft amazing looking graphics. Provided you have the artistic talent. Just take a look at the Forza forums to see the amazing designs players have been coming up with. I can’t remember another game that created as much of a sort of side cottage industry as this, and with Forza 2’s newfound ability to trade and sell customized cars over Xbox Live, it’s clear the developers have realized what a hit this feature is. It’s just the cherry on top of an amazingly delicious ice cream sundae of a game.
Super Play (Sweden) (Jun, 2007)
GamesFirst! (Jun 29, 2007)
While I do have some complains about the game, it's high praise that Forza Motorsport 2 is, despite these, the best racer on the Xbox 360 or any current-gen console for that matter. It does feel, at times that the game is Forza 1 but bigger, better, and more streamlined. It is, and that's not such a bad thing as I loved Forza 1. For me, Forza 2's constant feeling of being just in control--complemented beautifully by the screeching of tires about to lose their grip, the remarkable sense of speed, and the sophisticated physics engine--is unsurpassed. It has, in many ways, topped its predecessor and set the bar for racing titles. It fulfills nearly all of it's promises and delivers in just about every way imaginable. I suppose there's only one thing left to say--the king is dead; long live the king.
Cheat Code Central (Jun 14, 2007)
With so much content, it's hard to tell anyone not to purchase this game. With dozens and dozens of hours of single player on top of an online mode that should provide for hundreds of hours of pure enjoyment, the game is an absolute steal. It's a sure thing we'll be seeing additional tracks and cars available for download, but as it stands this is a package not to be missed by anyone who fancies themselves even a casual fan of driving games.
This is not the casual gamers driving game that you can dip in and out of for a few minutes at a time. This will eat up hours of your time and if you want to play online then you’re going to need practice. However, it is without doubt the best game of its type ever made. This is the new benchmark by which all other games of this type will be judged against. Gran Turismo 4 had better be amazing to be better than this and if I was Sony I would be very worried indeed.
Wonderwallweb.com (Jun 14, 2007)
Forza Motorsport 2 is a game which deserves a next generation console, it really offers incredible depth, amazing gameplay and fantastic looks, there is no doubt that once you pick this up you will not put it down and that is a testament to the hard work the developers have put into this game. If you purchase this game then cancel all your appointments because your going to be busy for quite a while.
Gamer 2.0 (Jun 04, 2007)
On the whole, Forza Motorsport 2 is everything you could want in a sequel. It has more of what made the first one great, and lots of new features that set it apart from the rest of the games in this genre. With its deep customization and hearty online component, Forza 2 will keep you playing for months.
XboxZone (Australia) (Jun 16, 2007)
However, to ensure this doesn’t turn into a thesis, let me just state it simply. You have to own this game. The beautiful graphics, awesome physics, lengthy and enjoyable single player career, and the expansive multiplayer modes, options and tournaments are massive in scope and implemented intelligently. The ridiculously entertaining racing is just the icing on the cake. If you’re not into simulations, be wary, but if you love all things cars and racing you’ll be playing this for a long time coming.
If you have any love of the racing genre, then this title will definately enrich your 360 collection. The downright beautiful visuals work together with solid technical gameplay and an online experience that is easy to get into to make a game that is hard to harp on. Really, my only complaints center around several interface issues which are annoyances rather than serious bugs in the game. Turn 10 showed a lot of love when they designed this title, complete with the wide range of cars, detailed tracks, and well modeled damage. I look forward to seeing what tracks will be offered as DLC in the future.
NG-Gamer (Jun 05, 2007)
Gamervision (Jun, 2007)
I completely recommend Forza Motorsport 2 to anyone willing to spend the time to master each cars controls. To anyone who is a car enthusiast, you must pick up this game, the single player career mode is fantastic and the online multilayer is one of the best I have ever played.
Game Vortex (2007)
All-in-all, Forza 2 is a fun game, with something for everyone. I think the rumor going around that Forza 2 is killing people's 360's is probably an urban legend. And so, as soon as my 360 gets repaired and returned to me (it died while I was reviewing Forza 2), I will try the online races again and will update this review accordingly.
Console Monster (Jun 08, 2007)
The Xbox 360 finally has a new landmark racing game on its system, which it has been starving for since Project Gotham Racing 3. Combining both accessibility and customization, Forza Motorsport 2 is not only something that hardcore racing fans should check out, but a game that every Xbox 360 owner owes him or herself to experience, no matter what their opinion of racing games are.
Xboxdynasty (XD) (May 09, 2007)
TalkXbox (Jun 15, 2007)
Boasting over three-hundred vehicles to modify, upgrade and eventually auction off, Forza Motorsport 2 is the most customizable racer ever released. There are some imperfections, mainly visual-related, but if you can forgive the presentation shortcomings, you’re going to find one of the finest titles to hit the Xbox 360 this year.
XboxAddict (May 30, 2007)
Release lots of new cars and tracks via Xbox Live Marketplace at regular intervals and for reasonable prices, and the community around this game will thrive for years.
Mygamer.com (Aug 25, 2007)
Racing Simulation games have been done before, but they have never been done this well. With an active and growing community that constantly supports and plays online, tight controls, and amazing graphics it is easy to see why Forza is an easy choice for the 360. Even with its short comings and occasional faults it is a hard game not to recommend to any racing fan.
Gamernode (Jun 11, 2007)
Simply put, Forza 2 is much more than just another racing simulation on the console; it's the closest thing to the realization of a racing fan's dream game that we have ever seen. It may not have as many cars or tracks as Gran Turismo, but you won't really care since the driving mechanics, online racing, and community are that damn good.
Game Chronicles (Jun 22, 2007)
For those gamers who lean more towards the arcade stylings of the Burnout and Need For Speed titles – Forza Motorsport 2 might feel a bit regimented at first. But give the game a chance, and you might find that there is a ton of satisfaction to be had by slowing down once in a while.
TeamXbox (May 27, 2007)
Forza Motorsport 2 undoubtedly comes packed with plenty of entertainment for your sixty bucks. With a fully simulated tire model, damage engine, deep livery editor, open-ended UI, three-hundred plus cars, robust multilayer area and yes, even Laguna Seca, Forza Motorsport 2 is the equivalent to those puzzles that come in the BIG box. But a puzzle isn’t much more than a box full of nothin’ until those pieces come together synergistically as a whole. If you have the time and the patience to put together the puzzle- that is- partake in a car-crazy journey, Forza Motorsport 2’s destination is surely worth the drive.
Computer Bild Spiele (Jun 06, 2007)
If you are looking for the next great racer then you should look no further then Forza Motorsport 2 at this current time. Along with great graphics, good sound and very solid gameplay, both online and off, Team 10 has added some great community support in this sequel to one of the better sim-racing games out there. Bottomline, given the total package that Forza 2 offers, you really cannot go wrong with this game.
Giery.eu (Jun 14, 2007)
Kropka...
Fragland.net (Jul 21, 2007)
I could go on for hours about the physics, the tracks, the scale model, the online possibilities like official tournaments, replays, the types of races, and so on… but I’ll limit myself to the following: Forza 2 perfections the gameplay of the race-sim as we know it from the original and the Gran Turismo series, adds an impressive AI, great online possibilities and endless amounts of leaderboards, makes you fall in love with community fetures like the auction, unique cars, interactive site and the paint possibilities, makes that the game is perfect for the racing fans and remain accessible for the beginner, and finally finishes it all off with a presentation that has everything going for it. Forza 2 is a monster but one you’ll love to tame!
IGN Australia (Jun 13, 2007)
I've already said so much about Forza 2, yet in many regards I'm barely skimming the surface. This is the deepest, most all encompassing driving simulator on the market. Turn 10 absolutely adores the sport of motor racing and car tuning, and every ounce of this love has been wrung into Forza 2. It's a daunting game for novices, but one that demands every racer's attention. The old saying of "The more you put into something, the more you'll get out of it" has never been truer. Put the time into Forza 2 to learn how to drive it well, tweak it well and customise it well, and you'll be rewarded with more satisfaction than a game should be able to provide.
XBox Front (May 28, 2007)
GameSpot (May 29, 2007)
What Forza 2 ultimately achieves is the precise brand of evolution you'd want from a sequel to the original Forza. The driving model has been made even better with the tweaks and adjustments made to it, and the features set is so remarkably deep that you're likely to lose large chunks of your free time buying, customizing, and racing your favorite cars. It's a testament to the original Forza's design that this sequel can feel both so much like the original and yet so much better at the same time. If you've got even an inkling of a theory that you might like driving games, you need to play Forza 2.
Game Shark (Jun 13, 2007)
Regardless of your level of familiarity with the nuts and bolts of real world racing, this is a game that not only captures the competitive spirit of wheel to wheel racing but does so in a way that is genuinely fun and somehow skirts the mundane feeling that plagues other games in the genre. Forza Motorsport 2 has officially set the bar.
Gaming Nexus (Aug 21, 2007)
Two years after releasing one of the best racing sims ever made, Microsoft is ready to take the genre to the next level. Forza 2 manages to improve on the original in almost every way, ultimately creating the best racing games of 2007 (and a real contender for game of the year)!
Gaming Target (Jun 13, 2007)
While the visuals don’t have the outright sizzle of something like Project Gotham Racing 3, the racing action is extremely fun and customizable. There’s plenty to do off-line or on-line, and you’ll find that the revamped car detailing tools make for some exceptionally individual vehicle designs.
VGNZ (Jun 20, 2007)
If you own an Xbox 360 and have anything from a slight interest to a fanatical obsession with cars, then Forza Motorsport 2 is for you. This game offers simulation style racing that is made accessible with user friendly options and appealing online functions thanks to a variety of Xbox Live features. If that doesn't sound like enough choice for you, the developers have kindly thrown a ridiculous number of car customisation options into the game. Of course there are a few technical shortcomings that can take the player out of the simulation, while the dull presentation certainly isn't helpful. In any case, Forza Motorsport 2 is compulsory playing for anyone who wants to experience a new generation of racing games. Play it now.
1UP (May 29, 2007)
So that about wraps it up. Forza 2 is the best sim racer out there right now, no question, and it continues to lead the way online. But aside from the cool online auction and community stuff, it's pretty much Forza 1 with updated graphics -- which is great, but I was hoping for a slightly larger step forward.
Gaming Age (Jun 08, 2007)
Well, that about wraps it up. As a driving/racing/car enthusiast, I can comfortably give a high recommendation to Forza 2. There is so much value here for the money spent, which isn't particularly easy to say about a lot of new $60 games. Enjoy it. It could very well last you through the summer and beyond.
UGO (UnderGroundOnline) (2007)
Forza Motorsport 2 had to do a lot to achieve its predecessor's own lofty accolades, and this entry certainly has all the right moves to match and - in some respects - surpass what the original Forza did. The driving is decidedly simulation, to be sure, but the precision of the control and subtlety of the assists make this game accessible to those with even a passing interest in real-world racers. Add to that the amazing car selection, customization options, upgraded decal/painting engine, auction house and smooth online play, and you've got Forza making its case (once again) for being one of, if not the best in the business.
Deaf Gamers (2007)
It's not often that games live up to the hype they generate during the pre-release phase but I think it's safe to say that Forza Motorsport 2 does so quite nicely. It's not perfect however and more racing environments and a stronger AI in the Career mode would have been very welcome. There should have been far more restrictions in the Career mode too, to create more of a challenge. Those problems aside however, and considering the customisation and the superb support for online racing, auctions and tournaments etc., it's without a doubt the best racing game on the Xbox 360 at the moment and for fans of the genre it's a must own title.
XboxAchievements (Sep 16, 2007)
The best driving game available on the Xbox 360, but with enough flaws to show that there’s still room for improvement, which is what the competition will no doubt be trying to improve on. There’s a huge game here though which has an addictive side to it in terms of trying to collect all the cars. If you like driving games then you should love Forza 2.
UOL Jogos (Jun 01, 2007)
Eurogamer.de (May 10, 2007)
Hooked Gamers (Jun 28, 2007)
In the end, Forza 2 has proven itself to be an outstanding title in most areas. The game has only minor blemishes in areas that are easily forgivable in light of the excellent quality and gameplay. Even when the game reaches absurd levels of frustration, you can simply tune down the difficulty until you get back into your skill zone and continue on. The X-Box Live offers literally limitless opportunities, allowing you to advance your career online and take part in the Forza community by racing against friends and peers.
Planet Xbox 360 (Jun 02, 2007)
If it seems like I am bashing Forza 2 don’t misunderstand me, as a complete game it performs far above par. There may be some small problems with this aspect or that aspect, but when it comes down to what matters the game shines. The career mode is beefy and will take many hours to complete, the multiplayer mode is fun and having the ability to race against up to seven other human racers is a plus. The online community tools are just awesome such as the auction house or skin feature. Throw in one of the most comprehensive car lists ever seen and a physics system to kill for and you have yourself one hell of a racing simulation. There may not be any other competition on your Xbox 360 in this genre but I feel confident that even if there was, Forza Motorsport 2 would come out on top, don’t pass this one up.
Jive Magazine (Jun 03, 2007)
Award-winning racing sim Forza Motorsport gets the sequel treatment, and the only thing more realistic than the way these cars look is how they perform, from authentic physics to realistic wear and damage. Forza Motorsport 2 comes loaded with more than 300 cars from 50 top manufacturers, including Porsche, Ferrari, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Lamborghini. You're able to upgrade them with the utmost precision, fine-tuning every detail to give yourself an edge over the competition. Race on over 60 tracks in 18 environments, with Road America, Laguna Seca, and Silverstone leading the way among 13 officially licensed real-world circuits. Pimp your ride in paint shops, compete online, and more.
Boomtown (Jun 05, 2007)
I love this game, really love it, and if you're into cars and racing then I don't doubt you will love it too.
Totally Gaming Network (Jun 06, 2007)
This game caters for the driving game fans but it also caters for the wanabe fans like myself. There is a huge amount of content to chew through and a very reasonable amount of achievements to aim for too. I have a large portion of races under my belt across the race types but realise I have a ways to go if I am to start grabbing the achievements in this game… yet I actually feel like I can attain them, and fully intend to keep playing this game. I have certainly had a lot of fun painting and tweaking my cars but equally I have also enjoyed ripping my car around a track and managing to win every race. There is not an awful lot wrong with the game, and apart from the jaggy background pieces this is a racing game and it does exactly what it says on the tin. This is a job well done and a title you would be proud to own.
videogamer.com (Jun 07, 2007)
Be aware that Forza 2 will consume your life in a way that few other games are capable of. After a few races it'll have you hooked like the very best MMOs and you won't be able to remove it from your disc tray. With a sublime racing model, superb AI, tons of content, brilliantly simple car upgrades and tuning, an unbelievable paint shop tool and all the online options you can imagine, Forza 2 is the premier Xbox 360 racer and the new king of the genre.
IC-Games (Jun 12, 2007)
Turn 10 have achieved what many thought was unachievable. Forza Motorsport 2 has done what every good sequel should do; improve on an already impressive series. The graphics may be missing some of that wow factor we are starting to see in our next-gen games but there is no denying this deserves a place in your collection none the less. Get your motor runnin’ spice up those leaderboards and finally show everyone what you’re made of on the road.
Overall, Forza offers a fantastic sim race experience. The deep career mode, and incredible physics engine offer a one of a kind racing experience. Not to mention the replay value of a game with this level of customization. If you’re a car guy (or gal), you can’t afford to pass this one up. Now if you’ll excuse me…I’ve got to get back to putting the finishing touches on my Charger.
Entertainment Depot, The (Jul 03, 2007)
Forza 2 is a superb follow-up that is sure to please fans of the original and newcomers alike. The way the game handles its own complexity - recognizing, simplifying, and properly rewarding progress - should be studied by other developers as to how to tackle a daunting task and turn it into a boon for the title and the players. A few more tracks, and maybe a taste of rally (RalliSport Challenge 3? Yes? No?) would’ve been the icing on the cake, but as it is now Forza 2 offers a fantastic experience and is highly recommended.
Darkstation (May 29, 2007)
With all of the praise, it is no wonder that for the second time Forza Motorsports 2 still manages to impress. This is a game that manages to bring everything together into one complete package that remains without many problems. This is one of those games that if you let it you could be playing until Christmas. The online capabilities of this game can really expand and make for an extremely enjoyable experience. Racing fans do I really need to say this? Go get this game.
Armchair Empire, The (Jul 06, 2007)
Gearhead gamers will thoroughly enjoy the true-to-life car behaviors and the ability to modify cars to unlimited extremes. Expect to find yourself in the virtual garage for hour after hour competing in the single-player mode. Multiply that by an even larger number of hours you’ll spend racing online with your customized rides and any car fan is getting their money's worth.
Being a massive racing games fan (horse racing as well) [Really? I hadn't noticed! Just kidding, your enthusiasm is contagious! Ed.], I couldn't wait to get my hands on Forza Motorsport 2 from the moment I heard it was in development. Come release day nearly six months later and I absolutely love it. It's got to the point where I haven't had another game in my Xbox 360's drive in days! In fact, I don't think I've seen the sun in a few days either (only kidding, but it really is that addictively good). This is exactly what Microsoft needed after the success of Sony's Gran Turismo and, better still, it provides a solid foundation for future sequels to be built off and expanded. This is definitely one of the must have games on the Xbox 360 at the minute - just be sure to strap yourself in tight!
Thunderbolt Games (Aug 11, 2007)
All in all, Forza 2 deserves the hype that it has been receiving ever since the launch of the Xbox 360. Given the fact that it was given its own controller, it was expected that the driving model would be excellent, but as with many games, doubts were cast on just how good a sequel could be. While the visuals leave something to be desired, they're easily overlooked thanks to the brilliant job the developers did with the actual gameplay. And really, isn't that all that matters?
ComputerGames.ro (Jul 22, 2008)
Forza 2 is an exceptional game, realistic, difficult and complex, with features rarely found in other racing titles. It’s the type of game which has managed to attract people who otherwise wouldn’t have touched a racing sim for the life of them, and showed them the “path”. A must buy, for sure.
Kombo.com (May 30, 2007)
Forza Motorsport 2 is the best racing simulation ever made. Granted, as the first true simulation racer of the next generation it doesn’t yet have much competition to that title, but the fact remains that Turn 10 and Microsoft have created a title that raises the bar for the genre. The physics, customization options and online functionality are the best we’ve ever seen. Aside from the uninspiring visuals and few other minor issues, there’s no reason for any Xbox 360 owner to turn down this ride.
GamePro (US) (May 30, 2007)
The graphics might not be the mind-blowing spectacle some were expecting, and the damage model sometimes seems to vary between subtle and extreme with no middle ground, but between the pleasurable addiction of the long career mode, and the undeniable pull of bottomless online play, Forza Motorsport 2 isn't just money well-spent, it's the best Xbox 360 racer you can buy.
USA Today (May 31, 2007)
Whether you use the Xbox 360 wireless controller or the preferred Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel ($129), Forza Motorsport 2 feels as good as it looks — and it's quite the looker with its near-photorealistic cars, tracks and scenery. Add a truckload of cars to collect, virtually limitless customization and deep online options and you've got one of the finest Xbox 360 games to date.
Video Games Daily (Jun 13, 2007)
Forza 2 is a fantastic game. It doesn't rewrite the book on racing games, but it goes some way to perfecting the style. Those who played the first will be familiar with the game, but the refined nature of things, along with the thoroughly NEXT MEGA GEN feel of everything make it an essential purchase for any 360 owner, and certainly a game that could convert non-360 owners to the cause. The summer just got a reason to stay in.
GameZone (Jun 18, 2007)
Forza Motorsport 2 is easily the best racer you can find on the Xbox 360. The driving physics are deep and accurate, and the online features are a blast. While the game has its foibles, it’s still a highly recommended racer for any driving fan.
PAL Gaming Network (PALGN) (Jun 29, 2007)
So, that’s a whole lot of good stuff. So, what about the bad? Well, to be honest, there isn’t much wrong with Forza 2. It’s probably a little too similar to the first game – but the first game was pretty damn good, so it’s not much of a strong argument. If we do have a big problem with Forza 2, it’s just that there aren’t enough tracks – and most of which come from the first game. We would have liked a few more, especially street circuits, where we could look at scenery which actually borders on interesting. But ultimately, these are minor concerns. Forza Motorsport 2 is a brilliant game – possibly one of the best we will see this year. It has an ambitious goal of appealing to both casual racing fans, and hardcore driving nuts, and delivers in spades. If you even remotely like racing games, you need to get your filthy mits on this game.
Gamestyle (Jul 03, 2007)
As good as this game is, it's tough to recommend it to everyone. It makes little attempt to broaden its appeal outside of simulation fans; but as far as they are concerned, we couldn't recommend it more. Managing to steal the crown from Gran Turismo is no easy feat, and the next game in that seminal series will have to pull off something special to recapture the limelight.
Video Game Generation (Jun 16, 2007)
Forza 2 is a solid racing title, especially for people who like simulation racing titles. The robust online offerings and customization features offset the lack of new tracks and the relatively low number of unique tracks. The game looks good and plays great, making it a worthy successor. While it may not be perfect, it is the premier video game racing title right now.
Jolt (UK) (Jul 31, 2007)
But, even as a closing chapter rather than a full scale revolution, Turn 10 has offered up a pretty fine finale that opens up the field to a much wider audience. It would seem Polyphony Digital’s claim that Gran Turismo is the world’s ‘Real Driving Simulator’ is well and truly under threat.
The Next Level (USA) (Aug 08, 2007)
Ultimately, though, Forza 2 is the best, most powerful racing sim that's ever been put together. Sorry Gran Turismo fans, but for now Forza 2 has you beat, if only for the incredible online and customization features. Unless you're a racing game hater or someone who loathes hitting the brakes, Forza 2 belongs in your Xbox 360 collection.
DreamStation.cc (Nov 28, 2007)
Overall, racing fans should have a great time with Forza 2. It’s a definite buy for anyone looking for a racing simulation game with online play. Like most racing games, the CPU is flawless and you’ll have to be just as flawless to beat them. Stellar graphics, great sound and some unique online features mean near endless replay value. If you’re into racing games how could you pass on this? It is the best racer on the Xbox 360.
PlayDevil (Jul 24, 2007)
Ok, full marks may sound generous… there are less tracks than the previous game, with point-to-point racing and drag racing gone totally; the Live play is a little suspect, and the graphics aren't the hottest thing in town. But the attention to detail is incredible, the auction house and paint room simply amazing, and the career so long it could take years to complete. The gameplay is so detailed and complete, but yet accessible to anyone that this really is an amazing game that everyone should buy and love. It is also incredibly good value for money, and the promise of downloadable tracks should sort out any issues with the lack of tracks. Buy Forza, and you will slowly be hooked into the most addictive racing experience available on any console, ever.
Bonusweb (Jun 05, 2007)
Defunct Games (Aug 29, 2007)
Two years after releasing one of the best racing sims ever made, Microsoft is ready to take the genre to the next level. Forza 2 manages to improve on the original in almost every way, ultimately creating the best racing games of 2007 (and a real contender for game of the year)!
Worth Playing (Oct 14, 2007)
If you're looking for an excellent driving simulation to add to your collection, then Forza Motorsport 2 is, hands down without a doubt, a superb addition. Thanks to the driving aid system, it offers a racing experience that can be modified to suit any player's desire and skill level. If you're a big fan of online playability, then you'll also enjoy FM2 to its fullest. Simply put, you'll quickly lose yourself — and track of time — enjoying hours on end playing this visually stunning, excellently constructed racing simulation game.
Eurogamer.net (UK) (Jun 08, 2007)
Best of all you needn't have four interlinked TV screens and a bespoke racing chair to get the most out of this game - although that option is there for those who want it. Neither have you to spend hours under the bonnets, reading performance graphs or worrying about which spoiler is more likely to impress a girl and intimidate a boy. Forza 2 really is as universally appealing a sim racing game as one could hope for, and there's not a blue shell in sight.
FZ (Jun 07, 2007)
IGN (May 29, 2007)
Cars are supposed to be sexy, but they aren't sexy in Forza 2. Sure, they are accurately recreated and have spot-on physics, but Forza 2 is the Ed Asner of racers. It's talented, but you wouldn't want to take it to bed.
GamingExcellence (Aug 14, 2007)
Balancing on the fence of arcade and simulation is a dangerous zone, but more and more folk are seeming to find their balance. PGR is just left of centre, and Forza is just right. If you follow Gran Turismo, PGR, or most any racer without guns and gore, you'll easily follow Forza. Get your rear in gear and pick it up.
Gamers.at (Jun 25, 2007)
Ist Forza2 also doch das perfekte Rennspiel? Nein!
360 LIVE (May, 2007)
MS Xbox World (Jun 06, 2007)
For beginners Forza 2 is fairly accessible and after spending time with the game it's pretty easy to understand the process for success. For advanced players then there's a lot to mess around with and in this respect should keep most gamers happy until the next Forza game is released. Forza 2 isn't a flawless game by any means but does remain unparallelled as there is simply no other game that can offer the same level of depth and unprecedented attention to detail. When it comes to letting the likes of all of us home based racers loose in the garages and on the tracks the game does deliver where it counts. If you like racing then Forza 2 is a must buy.
DarkZero (Jun 24, 2007)
Right now I am kind of regretting cobbling together that sentence for use in that review as I am going to have to regurgitate it here once again. It just seems the perfect phrase to sum up Forza 2. All in all Forza 2 is truly a great game and one hell of an achievement for Turn 10… and yes, like I just said, it may be more of the same, but it is just that little bit different enough to make it worth picking up as it offers gamers the best version of the game yet. Whether your car experience consists of simply browsing the latest issue of Auto Trader at a visit to the barbers or attending the multitude of trade events taking place every day across the length and breath of the UK, there is something here for you. Sure the game does not vastly differ from the Xbox original and a few more tweaks could have been made to the audio and graphics, but in all honesty there is no need to change a winning formula when it was nigh on perfect in the first place.
Computer and Video Games (CVG) (Jun 06, 2007)
Forza 2 is a massive undertaking that looks great and has a hell of a lot to offer. For people that like collecting things, you'll love it. Online play and user generated content have all been catered for with plenty of thought and attention. It's just the actual racing itself that lets the whole experience down a little. It's not bad by any means; it just could have been much more exciting, especially if the AI had more personality.
Games TM (May, 2007)
(...) For the foreseeable future, Forza Motorsport 2 will be the game that all ca devotees swear by. With a wide-ranging selection of vehicles, thousands of different customisation options and in-depth career mode, as well as a number of exhibition races where trophies and cars are waiting to be won, Forza is no slouch.
Factornews (Jun 08, 2007)
NZGamer (Jun 15, 2007)
And finally we have Xbox Live features to really seal the deal. You can take your personalized car online and show off your driving prowess by burning laps around your opponent. Obviously there is a much greater sense of satisfaction winning a race against human drivers, but personally I don’t think there are enough options in the multiplayer mode to keep people enthralled. Then again I’m not the target market for Forza 2 and I still enjoyed it so I would say this game is a must for driving fans. Especially if you have one of those swanky wireless Xbox 360 steering wheels to boot!
Xbox World Australia (XWA) (Jun 29, 2007)
Some more tracks are needed, as is a deeper sense of immersion. However, Forza 2 is anything but awful and in many respects it is one of the best driving simulations available right now. Despite some other reviews stating that this game does not appeal to the lay gamer, I found it engaging from the get-go, and the custom painting interface, with the resulting eBay-like behaviour it has begotten, has got to go down in history as one of the most interesting displays of player agency ever.
Daily Game (Aug 01, 2007)
This second lap in the Forza franchise shows marked improvement and depth in the racing sim genre, easily making this a must-have game for Xbox 360 owners looking for something deeper then Project Gotham Racing, Burnout and Test Drive.
Bordersdown (Aug, 2007)
For those of you who read the opening paragraph then jumped to the bottom to view the score, I will leave you with my four word review. Balanced control, evolved brilliance.
TotalVideoGames (TVG) (Jun 08, 2007)
Recognising the appeal, Turn 10 has ensured the feature makes a welcome return for the sequel with a number of improvements. With an array of basic shapes and limited fonts, creating something that doesn't look as though it came from a primary school, initially seems like an impossible task. Perseverance and seeing what others have come up with soon provides the initiative to come to terms with what's available, and understand the techniques behind creating some of the more elaborate designs you'll come across. In the original Forza, creating designs was a fun little addition, but one that I didn't pay too much time with; something's changed with the sequel, and I find myself spending the same amount of time in the paint shop as I do on the track. With the option to spend hours designing cars and selling them in the Auction House, Forza 2 provides a welcome break from the racing action with something that provides plenty of rewards and satisfaction.
GamerDad (Jun 15, 2007)
Whether you use the Xbox 360 wireless controller or the preferred Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel ($129), Forza Motorsport 2 feels as good as it looks ﾗ and it's quite the looker with its near-photorealistic cars, tracks and scenery. Add a truckload of cars to collect, virtually limitless customization and deep online options and you've got one of the finest Xbox 360 games to date.
For hardcore Top Gear nuts who spend every spare hour pimping their ride, this is sublime. But if you’re a casual speed freak, FM2 will soon leave you yearning for the simple, pedal-to-the-metal action of Burnout or Ridge Racer.
EL33TONLINE (Nov 07, 2007)
If you enjoy the motor racing industry and have a passion to “Pimp Your Ride” then this game is going to be spinning in your Xbox 360 for some time to come!
JustPressPlay (Jun 15, 2007)
Forza 2 is an enjoyable game, but it just does too little to improve upon what was done in the first Forza. The car list reads almost exactly like the first one, but they did throw in a couple of more new cars and even managed to incorporate some Lamborghini's. As true to the original formula as it is, it's still enjoyable and highly addictive.
The Video Game Critic (Apr 18, 2012)
Hardcore racing fans can probably bump up the grade a letter, but those looking for instant gratification should avoid Forza 2 at all costs.
