Does anyone have any idea's as to the sires, and locust in general, i.e what are they, were do they come from etc?

One very plausible theory that i came across goes along the lines of this....

The facility at New Hope was set up to research human evolution/genetics, and that the patients there were test subjects in this experiment, eventually being turned into sires. At some point, it the scientists become unable to continue their work on sires for some reason and decided to leave New Hope with some of their 'subjects' (humans or sires?) for Mount Kadar (a known locust stronghold during the event's of gears 2), and established a settlement. It is worth noting that video footage at New Hope states that the then-Chairman Munroe would not allow the use of vehicles for the journey to Mount Kadar, but does not make clear why the journey was being made, why Munroe would not allow the use of vehicles, why some sires were left behind or the very nature of the New Hope facility or why it was shut down or abandoned.

Over the next several years/decades/century's/millennia these sires (or human test subjects, depending on their transformational progress) evolved into the locust horde until they launched their E-Day surprise assault. A lot of this is supported by the hidden material that you find at the New Hope facility.

So please add any thoughts on this theory or add any others you might know of.
