The Great Paper Adventure
Description
The Great Paper Adventure is a horizontally scrolling shoot 'em up. After a drunk night, the hero wants to visit his grandma with his flying vehicle. Unfortunately there are a lot of things in the way which try to kill him. The game is humorous (for example, some enemies are cows and flying octopodes) and the graphical style stays true to the title: all sprites appear as cut out from paper.
The gameplay follows the genre standard: the player can move freely over the automatically scrolling screen and needs to dodge enemies and their projectiles. The vehicle has both a standard weapon and a limited amount of bombs which clear the whole screen. Collecting power-ups reward weapon upgrades (e.g. a flamethrower or a multi-direction shot), but those have only a limited ammo supply. Afterwards, the weapon reverts to the standard configuration.
Death happens after each hit and the player respawns at the death location. After all lives are lost, the level has to be started all over. Most levels end with a boss fight. In addition to the points earned for shooting down enemies, additional ones are rewarded when finishing a level with bombs and lives to spare.
