Triggerheart Exelica

Development history

The developers at Warashi chose to create another scrolling shooter as they were unhappy with their previous release Shienryu Explosion. In fact, several key elements of Triggerheart Exelica, including the Anchor Shot, were originally intended for Shienryu Explosion but were cut due to the limited development schedule.

The original design for Crueltear was a traditional anime-style mech. The design was changed at the recommendation of Sega, who were distributing the arcade version of the game, to align more closely with the designs of Exelica and Faintear.
