You Found the Grappling Hook
Description
You Found the Grappling Hook is a short skill platform game by Mark Essen (messhof).
After the mysterious introduction, ```
You found the grappling hook! Hey, that's my grappling hook! And you didn't feed my dog! You forget about everything! You can't stay here anymore! ```
the player needs to complete ten levels playing as an 8-bit version of what appears to be the horned boy from ICO. The basic movement and jumps are not enough to complete the levels, the titular grappling hook comes into play. Large gaps in the cavernous areas need to be crossed by launching it into other platforms. The reach is however limited. While dangling in the air, the left and right arrow can be used to swing, while up and down lower of extend the hook's cord. Later levels introduce more difficult platforms with deadly spikes. Upon death, the game immediately restarts at the beginning of the level. There are no enemies or other characters in the game.
The 1.5 release adds a new section to the cave, new spirits, two new items, an ending, online highscores, automatic saves, improved collisions and altered music.
