Eurogamer.net (UK) (Oct 24, 2007)
Gorgeous, absorbing and, despite the subject matter, surprisingly non-violent; to this day it seems astonishing that T.L.L. can be run with the modest power of a Spectrum.
This is the best flight game for the Spectrum.
Pixel (Jan, 1985)
Sinclair User (Sep, 1984)
It all adds up to an exciting game, requiring fast reflexes and cool nerve and if you are made out of the right stuff, try flying under the telephone lines without panicking. TLL is no picnic.
Your Computer (Oct, 1984)
A terrain hugging mission inn which you control a swing-wing fighter bomber charged with obliterating enemy ground targets.
There are no bullets and bombs in this game but once you get familiar with the controls it's a great program.
Home Computing Weekly (Oct 09, 1984)
Flying over little crosses is not rivetingly exciting! Still its pretty to look at, impressive and maybe worth the price.
MicroHobby (Nov 13, 1984)
Retro Gamer (Apr 27, 2016)
Though it’s not a game that I played as a kid (I did my 8-bit computer gaming on a hand-me-down C64), Tornado Low Level exemplifies the design that will keep me playing retro games for as long as I play games – it’s simple, it’s addictive and it’s challenging, even if nothing does fire at you.
