So, the trivia credits the "liquid metal" cover on three versions to Julie Bell, Boris Vallejo's protege. You can see a full version of it here at http://mypics.000space.com/displayimage.php?pid=917&fullsize=1 , with her signature at bottom left. Why then does the identical artwork on the GB cover art have Boris' signature on it instead?

Very interesting. You mean the TG-16 cover, right?
Boris' signature is also on the Genesis cover, but in a different place, so it's obviously not original. But why did someone put it there? Hoping for name recognition?

Sorry, you're correct... three versions use that art, and at least two of them have Boris' signature instead of Julie's. Perhaps they collaborated on it? Or yes, more cynically, perhaps the misogynist game industry was more ready to take art from "Boris" than from some lady who probably didn't even play video games!
