Spike Chunsoft's series revolving around the students of Hope's Peak Academy, an elite high school in Japan that played a central role in an apocalyptic event called The Tragedy. Starting with the 2010 release of Danganronpa: Kibō no Gakuen to Zetsubō no Kōkōsei, the series has since expanded into a multimedia franchise that includes games, novels, manga, and anime.
