Games based on, or inspired by the classic Chinese novel Xi You Ji (西游记, "Journey to the West"; also known as "Monkey"), written in 16th century by Wu Cheng'en (吴承恩). A particularly influential character from the novel is the monkey Sun Wukong (孙悟空), who became one of the most famous fictional characters in Far Eastern culture; among his countless incarnations in popular culture, the most notable one is probably Son Goku (the Japanese pronunciation of the name) of the Dragon Ball franchise.
