We had an outage yesterday thanks to the DSL carrier we were using. In a few weeks, we'll be on a completely different carrier, so any future outages should be drastically reduced if not completely eliminated.

I've burped out the last bits of the approval queue, so bask in all of that new content goodness.

Alan Chan wrote some particularly funny captions for some Shogo screenshots, if you're interested.

It sure has been quiet lately, hasn't it? There are strange and mysterious forces moving beneath MobyGames that we are intentionally not reporting until things settle down. That's our excuse for the lack of communication and approvals, and we're sticking to it! ;-)

But seriously, there are some major structural changes happening, a new feature article is almost ready, and Brian started work on a new community feature that I'm sure you'll enjoy. As always, stay tuned. (And I should get back to approvals in 24 hours.)

PS: Keep those typos and corrections coming, as we do read and hold onto every one you send us. They don't get fixed right away because we're working on adding more features instead, but trust me, they'll get implemented. More changes in the works include a slight rewording of the software have/want lists to match the official MobyScale specification of grading software collectable conditions (more on this later), and other niggly bits.

Martin Isaksen helped us sort out the "Jugar" mess by suppling details about what is now correctly titled Mad Mix. Thanks Isak!

I hate reiterating this every 4 months, but a flurry of new covers dictates that I regurgitate the following:

Please stop taking covers without permission from ExoticA!, an Amiga nostalgia site. The site is fantastic, the covers are fantastic, but copying them without permission (which they have not given) is not fantastic. We don't accept Amiga covers (yet) anyway!

Guys'n'gals, you can't just steal stuff from one web page to stick on another. That's not how it works. And don't think we don't notice if you crop off a watermark and resize the image, because we do.

Remember kids, we're trained professionals. Don't try this at home.

Turns out that the game we have in the database as Jugar isn't really called Jugar (for obvious reasons, now that someone clued us in on a little Spanish). Does anyone know the real title, company, etc. of this game? For example, the Spanish title we have for the game is, ironically, the english translation of the Spanish title.

Just looking for a little clarification. You'd want us to, I'm sure. :-)

Whoa, 56 game entries waiting for approval! I'll get to them as quickly as I can, but expect a 24-36 hour delay for all approvals until I clear the queue out.

I guess my old-timer comment hit a few nerves. :) But that's good -- remember, we want to document all years of the PC's game history, not just the last 3. We like to see older entries (preferably with credits).

Speaking of which, don't be offended if we occaisionally send some entries back for more work before final approval; our mission is quality over quantity, so if a description doesn't describe gameplay, is opinionated and subjective, or is less than a sentence long, we will change it back to a work in progress and send you email to fix it. FYI.
