Please do not use Morpheus, Kazaa or LimeWire. They are stealing money from MobyGames. The New York Times is running an article on how these software makers are diverting affiliate commsions away from websites and to their accounts when users of their software make purchases. MobyGames is over 90% funded by affiliate sales, with the balance coming from advertsing and donations. These jerks are trying to make it harder for us to pay for our bandwidth and server facilities. If you want to be a Friend of MobyGames and get a nice shiney bronze star ( ) next to your name click here.
The NES is now an officially supported platform in MobyGames. We've also set up http://nes.mobygames.com which will be dedicated to the Nintendo Entertainment System. Everything is ready to start accepting submissions.
We've added four new systems to MobyGames in the last day. As per popular request, we've added the Sega CD, Sega 32x, the Atari Lynx and the Amiga. We're ready to start taking new submissions for these systems.
PC World, which is picked up by Yahoo News, is running a story about a huge classic software and gaming auction going on at ebay. MobyGames friend, Eli Tomlinson, is auctioning over 250,000 pieces of classic computer software. Visit Eli's site or auction to get the full scoop. MobyGames is prominently mentioned in the article. Check it out here. Congrats to all the people who helped make this site the best source for gaming information.
Some of you might have noticed that we had some downtime from about 6AM CST to 9AM CST. Our new database machine completely broke down and we had to migrate it over to one of our spare servers. Unfortunately, we had to restore from last night's database dump. So any information submitted between 1AM CST and 6AM CST is lost. Sorry for the bad news...
