Equipped with a PhD in Banking and Finance, Sophie Buhl joined Totem Interactive in 1993 as commercial and marketing manager. In 1996, she started to work at Quantic Dream as lead scripting (level design) on Omikron: The Nomad Soul. She worked extensively on the creation of the ICE scripting tool between 2000 and 2001 and was Head of Game Building (level/game designing) for Fahrenheit.
