Erik Wolpaw is an American video game writer with Valve Corporation. He joined the company around December 2004. Previously he was with Double Fine Productions until he left in the summer of 2004. He was also one of the two writers behind the video game commentary website Old Man Murray.

In high-school he wrote two type-in game programs for Atari 8-bit computers. They were published by Antic between 1983 and 1984.
