Charles Mallison (b. 1985 - Corpus Christi, TX) is one of the rising lights in his generation of game designers. An avid and voracious reader, Mallison consistently brought a fresh perspective to the table as one of the first graduates of USC's Interactive Media Division. His peers have openly commended him for being one the leading lights of their program and a credible spokesman for the IMD's fledgling, yet impressive, design program. In addition to his coursework within USC's School of Cinematic Arts, Mallison received a Bachelor's degree in English from USC's prestigious School of Letters, Arts and Sciences. His double major was awarded cum laude, and his experience as a cross disciplinary thinker provided him with fertile ground in which to sew the seeds of his career's early innovations. Notable undergraduate works include The Mind's Eye and Converted, a game developed in USC's inaugural Advanced Games Projects class which was featured on NPR. Mallison is a self-avowed Post-Structuralist whose heroes include Michel Foucault. His senior thesis, The Player of the Text, is available on his IMD research blog, and will likely prove to be a seminal work of critical theory in the field of interactive entertainment.
In addition to literary theory and game design, Mallison's other hobbies include photography, film making, and of course, his much beloved limited edition pink Nintendo DS.
