John "Seg" Seggerson was born in Dearborn Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Seg is the first recipient of Emerson College's BFA in New Media, the CEO of Everything After Productions, and currently works as the Build & Distribution Engineer at Telltale Games. Seg states that his work aims to "provide the tools for the audience to become storytellers" and includes influences from the SCUMM engine era (Sam & Max Hit the Road, Day of the Tentacle, etc), the Tex Murphy series, and titles developed by Cyan Worlds (the Myst franchise).

Early in Seg's life, he was involved in various media groups in at Divine Child High School for music, theatre, video broadcasting, and other aspects of creative media. After graduating high school in 2000, Seg attended Western Michigan University for a double major in Cable/TV Broadcasting and Design/Technical Theatre. After two years of Western Michigan, he transfered to Emerson College in Boston and entered the New Media Program.

At Emerson, Seg developed his BFA thesis project called Antidote, a live-action video game for Macintosh and Windows. During his three years at the college, his time was spent on Antidote and working with his professors to create a foundation of a game design and writing curriculum. This work lead to the first Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Media at Emerson College, awarded to him in May 2005.

After graduation, Seg continued his work at Emerson developing web-based applications for the department of Enrollment and Student Affairs. Along with his student employees John Richardson and Cyle Gage, his team used game design principals for creating tools for admission and other departments at the college while also helping to further game development at the college.

In April 2007, Seg was hired at Telltale Games as the Build and Distribution Engineer and moved to the San Francisco bay area. Since then he has worked on episodic gaming through the projects developed at Telltale for Internet distribution and console systems.

In October 2009, Seg co-founded, along with Chris Kohler and Joe Markert, a charity event called Ümloud! (http://umloud.org/). The San Francisco event raises money for Child's Play Charity by playing Rock Band on a concert stage.

On July 18, 2012, a round of layoffs at Telltale Games included Seg. He is now developing his own game development company called Space Between Studios which focuses on non-fiction games.
