Fred Hirschfelder was born in Berlin, Germany in 1946. Having immigrated to the United States at a young age with his parents, Fred was a Vietnam veteran serving aboard USS Chicago from 1964 to 1968 in the duties as radioman. Fred continued his military service in France enlisting in the French Foreign Legion in 1980 up until his retirement in 1995. His interest in computers and networking stayed with him all throughout his Legion service, him being chief programmer for the budding "Service Informatique" for that organization.

Upon his return to the United States, Fred formed White-Knight Consulting Group, a small-business oriented company in the San Francisco Bay area and was quite successful up until the dot.com blowout. He then turned to a childhood dream - driving a big-rig - which he did up until his definitive retirement in October 2007. For the remainder of his life, he settled in Las Vegas - beta-testing games in development and having authored a user's manual.

Fred passed away suddenly from complications of diabetes on September 15, 2008 - he will be missed....
