Koji Kondo has been employed by Nintendo since 1984 as a composer. He is best known for his work with Nintendo's games developed by R&D4 (later Nintendo EAD) in the 1980's and 1990's. In the early days, he was credited in games as Konchan. He is best known as the composer for the Mario and Zelda series of games. Today, he still does some game composing, but he usually supervises and advises companies that are licensed by Nintendo to develop games using trademarks that Nintendo owns.
