Biography edit · view history

Chun was born in Tsz Wan Shan, Hong Kong in 1974. His family immigrated to UK in 1982 when he was 7. He started testing games at Software Creations at the age of 18 after completing his A Levels. A year later he moved into design, working on hit titles including Marvel’s “Maximum Carnage” and “Separation Anxiety” on the SNES and Sega Genesis.

Chun joined Psygnosis as a lead designer in 1997 at the start of the DVD era, creating the first ever Dolby Digital Interactive DVD game called “Lander” on this new medium. A move to Sony Computer Entertainment followed in 1999 where he played a key role in conceiving and developing the iconic title, “The Getaway”. The Getaway IP generated a further 2 titles as well as the PS3 social platform, “Home”.

In 2005, he founded Skoobie Games in his spare time with the focus on self-funded original game concepts for the mobile platform. Two titles were released in the following years, “Blue Eden” and “#XOXO”. By this stage, Chun viewed game development as a hobby, and something he would help his friends with on their respective projects. In 2020, “Millie & Molly” won Retro Gamer’s Game of the year on the C64, a puzzle game he designed with ex-colleague Carleton Handley.
