In December of 1992, John Wheeler began work at Papyrus as one of three programmers on their IndyCar I product. John was then named the technical lead on company's most promising titles: NASCAR Racing and NASCAR Racing 2. For NASCAR Racing 2, John oversaw and directed the work of over a dozen programmers in multiple locations. John did some additional work on IndyCar Racing II, and was working on the designs for several new products when he was named technical lead for Grand Prix Legends game. In this role, John again managed a large programming team to a successful conclusion. Having accomplished that feat, John made the decision to leave Papyrus in February of 1998 to take some time off and to explore other software development opportunities in the gaming industry.

John and Adam Lesvesque discussed the possibility of forming a company, and in July 1998 they made it official and founded Blue Fang Games. He serves as Blue Fang's Vice President of Advanced Technology.

John holds a BSE in Computer Science from Princeton University.
