Daniel Macré is a game French game developer who started working in the computer industry around 1970. After discovering Pole Position he got a Sinclair QL around 1984-85 with the specific objective of developing such an F1 racing game. It took him six months to develop Wroom!. The game was published by Pyramide and sold 3,200 units in the UK. After that he started the adaptation of the game for the Atari ST but realized that it was no longer a one-person job. He contacted Jean-Luc Langlois who had also developed a QL game, Wanderer, but then set up the development studio Lankhor. Macré worked together with the team and the ST version was released in 1991. It took so much of Macré's time he decided not to develop ST games anymore.
In 1996, at the age of 50, he had the opportunity to leave Digital Equipment (DEC), the IT company he had been working for for 20 years. He talked to Langlois and decided to join Lankhor which was about to close its activities at the time. They signed and developed a new number of games but due to the bad economical situation in 2001 no new games were signed and Lankhor was closed at the end of 2001. Macré then left the games industry and returned to the field of IT.
