Biography edit · view history

In 2007 Nick Tipping is the Director and Lead Artist of Moonpod.

He got into 3D art when he was about 14, messing around with Turbo Silver on the Amiga. He had always been keen on animation having made a few Plasticine animations with an aging cine-camera. When he went to university, there were no courses for 3D art so he decided to do architecture. The course he was on was a sandwich course, which meant his third year was spent in active practice.

His 3D experience got him a job with an architectural visualisation company - making walk through renders of building projects. He quickly realised that he wanted to do something in 3D art, so at the end of my year's work he took 6 months out to put a portfolio of 3D art together. The first place he applied to was Gremlin Interactive, and they offered him a job and he worked on Judge Dredd and N2O Nitrous Oxide. At Infogrames he created art tools and docs for various games, and at Rage Games he was involved with Gun Metal. Nick founded Moonpod after finishing a project at Rage Games when the company was about to go bust.
