Description official descriptions

Aliens have invaded earth, bringing with them a collection of deadly monsters bent on the destruction of the land they stand on. You must destroy each of the beasts and send the aliens packing, while also looking after yourself from the humans who want all beasts dead.

Choose from a host of classic Godzilla monsters including the 90's and 2000 version of the beast himself plus Megalon, Anguirus, King Ghidorah, Gigan, Rodan, Mecha-King Ghidorah, Destroyah and Mechagodzilla.

Battle in a range of modes including Adventure (destroy each of the beasts in turn in a collection of city locations), Destruction (destroy the city as much as you can), Survival (defeat as many beasts as possible on one health bar), Team Battle (beasts pair up into teams to tackle each other) and the multiplayer 'Melee' mode where up to four players can battle it out as their fav monster.

A true 3D fighting game/brawler featuring TOHO classic monsters.

The Good
The fighting in this game is wonderfully deep, and the interactions between monsters make each matchup distinct in a pleasing way.

The Bad
The sound was unfinished and somewhat inconsistent (monster sounds are perfect, though) and the lack of bots from the Gamecube release really hurt the product.

The Bottom Line
A refreshing fighter with interesting controls and mechanics.

Another fighting game that has reached my top favorite list

The Good
Most of this game is what I intend to call VERY SUPER COOL!! You can play as many classic monsters such as Godzilla 90's, King Ghidora and many others (I'd rather not spoil the others to you). You also get to fight on various cities such as Los Angeles, San Fransisco and lots of others (again, I'd rather not spoil the others to you). The opening cutscenes of the game when you turn it on, and the Adventure mode are a must-see for all Godzilla fans out there. And the fighting is the absolute fun part of the Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee experience (duh). I also really think the graphics for this game were really cool and real looking, and the sounds and roars the monsters make are really good for the Godzilla fan's ears.

The Bad
The controls. The controls will take quite a long time to get used to, especially those button combinations. When I first played this game, I didn't know what the hell I was doing and I always mistaken the R (jump) button for the guard button (Y button). The controls will suck until you get used to them (which will likely take you quite a while).

The Bottom Line
Overall, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee is a very fun gaming experience, especially to those who are fans of Godzilla and the movies. So if you find this at the rental store or pretty much anywhere, don't hesitate to pick it up.

A Game of Radioactive Proportions!

The Good
This game really features what you would expect in a Godzilla game, monsters, violence cities that can be destroyed, and alot of fighting. Yes Godzilla DAMM is a big-time fighting game any gamer that adores head to head (or monster to monster) fighting action. The visual is actually pretty good especially for such small scaling, even trees and roads are detailed in the fully destructible cities. The monsters look amazing too,and I still look in awe of the way godzilla's Beam weapon lights up. The sound is average, but doesn't really need any work. The Fighting itself is very fun, it is easy to manage and control. Extra features in the game are sweet, cities, monsters, the works. Overall, a game that is worth playing, even if your not a Godzilla or Fighting fan

The Bad
The Graphics are kinda old, but an issue with this game is how hard it is to beat it, at first it seems it can take as a long as can take to grow a beard, and thats just for the female players. The Adventure mode storyline is pretty lame, a sometimes doesn't add up.

The Bottom Line
Well, the game is for everyone, kaiju fan or not, you still love this game for the fighting and smashing. So, after you beat this game, why not buy the fun filled sequel? called Godzilla Saves the Earth?

Trivia

Cancelled PS2 version

There was originally going to be a version of this game made for the Playstation 2 that eventually got cancelled.

Title

Just like "Super Smash Bros.: Melee" and its classic version "Super Smash Bros." released on N64, Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters Melee had an original version for the Super Nintendo, without the word Melee in it (Unfortunately, it was never released in the U.S).
