An unique and psychedelic experience.

The Good
Playing a game where nothing is meant to really make sense on the first 15 minutes is somewhat intriguing, and draws you into discovering what's happening around you. And as it was advertised back then, it's all very based in the realm of art and dreams, namely the Surrealistic art movement...

The Bad
The game's controls are somewhat hard and not very intuitive... Maybe this was the whole point of it, making a game where you don't have absolute control -- just like when you try to react to something during a dream, the outcome is absolutely unpredictable -- but it definitely got in the way of gameplay.

The Bottom Line
Weird Dreams is a very cool and original action and puzzle game. Even though it's a bit frustrating at times -- taking the control and playability in consideration -- it's a brilliant game worth checking.

Trivia

Inspiration

Designer Herman Serrano said he wanted to "paint" the computer screen instead of a canvas. He thought up all the strange level themes while on vacation from art school. The novel is by Rupert Goodwins.
