Revision Typeedit
What ChangedGame Description
DescriptionSEGA's new officially renowned speedy blue mascot Sonic the Hedgehog has made his official debut and prominent appearance in the original 16-bit Genesis title, and while SEGA's other miniature 8-bit portable handheld Game Gear system platform has also gotten its own other miniature version of the original 16-bit 2D side-scrolling gaming adventure platformer which also basically features the same story arc and technically the same gameplay style as like with in the original Genesis version, but only with a different set of levels.

In this 2D side-scrolling platform-adventure game, Sonic must set off on his own pace and traverse his way across through 6 different Zones, each specifically consisting of about 3 "Acts" or levels, in order to stop and eventually bring down the notorious Dr. Robotnik once and for all. While most of the Zones here are also very similar to those that are present in the original version of the game that was developed and released on the 16-bit Genesis console system platform, although, there are also some features and other elements here that are entirely different as well, while most of the various enemies here including the mechanized Badniks can be simply defeated by using Sonic's head spikes upon jumping over at them or stomping on them or dashing and rolling on towards and against them and while the various power-ups here including the speed-ups or power sneakers, power shields and extra lives are all mostly the same as well as like in the Genesis version. Sonic can also find and collect the golden rings along the way for his protection that if or when he is hit by enemies, his rings are dispersed off from him and he simply loses all of his rings rather instead of losing a life, and as well as collecting the rings can earn Sonic with some other bonuses like extra lives. Although, Sonic can also try to quickly grab and gather up as many of his dispersed rings back as possible before they do totally disappear out of sight. Collecting about 100 rings in the levels also grants Sonic with an extra life and the 50 remaining rings at the end of each Zone Act level do also allow the player to access and enter into the spinball-themed Special Stages which are filled in and up with various bumpers and springs, and while each and every third "Act" or level of each Zone in this version of the game and also like in the Genesis version has Sonic encountering a boss fight against Robotnik and has Sonic as well rescuing all of his animal friends who have been thus captured and imprisoned by Robotnik all along and through which the game then carries Sonic on and over through the next Zone.

Along in his quest of adventure, Sonic must also find, collect and retrieve all of the 6 Chaos Emeralds in within the game just before they do terribly fall into the wrong and evil hands of Robotnik, and while unlike in the original 16-bit Genesis version, the Chaos Emeralds here are not actually hidden or housed in within the Special Stages but can rather though be seen or found just sitting around somewhere along in within over and about in throughout the regular Zone Act levels of the game.

Description
SEGA's mascot Sonic the Hedgehog made his debut in a famous <moby search="010086010091">Genesis title</moby>, but Sega's 8-bit systems got their own version of the platformer, featuring the same story and gameplay style, but different levels.¶

To stop the evil Dr. Robotnik, Sonic must traverse six zones consisting of three levels each. Most of the zones are based on those in the original game, but some are entirely new. Enemies (mechanized animals, defeated by Sonic's spikes when jumping or rolling) and power-ups (speed-ups, shields, extra lives) are mostly the same as well. Sonic can pick up golden rings for protection (when hit, he simply loses all of his rings instead of a life) and bonuses: 100 rings gain Sonic an extra life, and 50 remaining rings at the end of a level allow access to pinball-themed special stages full of bumpers and springs. The final level of a zone is always a boss fight against Robotnik.¶

Sonic should also collect the six Chaos Emeralds to keep them from falling into Robotnik's hands. In a departure from the original game, these are not hidden in the special stages but somewhere in the regular levels.
