|About myself:||I live in Sweden and will soon be 30 years old. I've been gaming on PC since 1997 and it's been a major part of my life ever since. I play games, read Swedish PC Gamer and daily follow the news about the gaming world on Gamespot and RockPaperShotgun. My favorite genres are FPS and RPG. I don't have any particular favorite games, because I like each game in its own way, but some have left a deeper mark than others. |
Clive Barker's Undying is phenomenally atmospherical and has great level design, enemies and weapons. The story/lore is also really good. It's scary and action packed in the right way, something that almost no other game has been able to replicate.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is not only quite a long name, but also quite a long game, with endless replayability. It really feels like you're in a different world when you're playing it. It's incredibly well-made, which is ironic since it was also incredibly buggy when it first launched. However, years of unofficial patches have made it the stable masterpiece it deserves to be. The setting, story, characters, voice acting and much else is some of the best I've ever encountered. There are also some great mods for it which have received several updates. This game and The Witcher made me buy the novels that the games are based on and I can't get enough of either.
I also have a fondness for the simple pleasures in life, like dismembering enemies with a lightsaber in Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast or using a cannonball to completely crush everything in my path in the Serious Sam games.
