Overview edit · view history

Animagination, located in Mission Viejo, CA, was formed in 1993 by Richard Williams and Phil Grabmiller.

The production of Backpacker: The Lost Florence Gold Mine, published on March 1, 1997, took 4 years, for the creators still had full-time jobs and were confronted with the introduction of Windows ’95 during the production of the game.

Backpacker would remain their only game. After Backpacker, Animagination published "The Armour of God" in 1998, a comprehensive bible study of Ephesians 6, on CD-ROM with full screen graphics and digitized speech.

In March 1999 it was announced that co-founder Phil Grabmiller had left the company, and that the company moved its offices to Chatsworth, CA. After the relocation the company started to present itself as a Christian company in a strong way. The Animagination website was turned into a site with religious news, prayers and sermons, maintained by Richard Williams. After June 2004 the site wasn't updated any longer.
