Yuro Olivier

Yuro Kataoka (aka Yuro Olivier) started his career in the industry in 2001, when he worked for Blue Byte Inc. in Germany, renown for their "The Settlers" brand as QA Tester while studying at the university in Essen, Germany. Beginning in 2002, meanwhile working at Phenomedia AG, famous for their Moorhuhn brand, internationally known also as Chicken-Hunter, he became involved in creating game design documents and contributing balancing data for games.

Since 2004, after finishing his studies at the university, Yuro Olivier is a professional in the industry. In 2004 and 2005 he was awarded with the German Developer Award (Audience Award) for the best casual game.

In 2008 he started working for the Zone 2 Media GmbH, focusing on educational simulations and e-learnings for the economy. He designed and combined game play elements and browser game mechanics with didactic elements for teaching purposes which became the origin of the SimuCoach software with customers like Vodafone O2, Bayer Health Care that are using the software for recruitment and teaching purposes.

In February 2012, at the LearnTec trade show in Germany, another symbiosis of the games industry and the economy industry was announced: an airline management game which will be used for educational purposes for managers at the Lufthansa AG, while a similar, more casual game is to be announced to the public as a free-to-play browser game in 2012.
