Biography edit · view history
Thomas Baedorff was born on the 15th of June 1981 in Aachen, Germany.
He started his career in the entertainment games industry in April 1998 as an (L)QA tester for Softgold Computerspiele GmbH based in Kaarst near Düsseldorf (Germany), signing a 3 year training contract as management assistant in IT-systems later that year starting in June.
During his training THQ Inc. took the company over and became THQ Germany - his tasks mostly based him in the localisation/development/research/(L)QA department.
With a one year intermission of civilian service taking place after the traineeship he then started as German LT (language tester) in June 2003 for Electronic Arts Germany, based in Cologne.
During his 3 year period as tester for various console/PC/handheld titles he had to travel to several EA development studios around the world based in cities such as San Francisco, Vancouver, London and Madrid.
His expertise earned him the promotion to Senior LT in April 2006, becoming specialist for 3rd party guidelines, training and project management support.
When EA decided to gather their localisation testing staff from all over Europe into the new ESSC (European Shared Service Center) in Madrid, he accompanied their move in June 2007 and started in the new role of German LT Team Lead, being one of the two backbones of any required support by the German LT team (such as hardware, software, project management or linguistic queries as well as training).
Since then many tasks have been added to the table and responsibilities have grown, by November 2012 he has become the Team Lead and Supervisor of the 50 member strong temporary testing staff for German, Polish, Hungarian, Turkish and Australian teams.
