I hope this is the right place to ask this. I use IrfanView (latest version) to take most of my screenshots, and it usually works well. However, it can't handle certain Flash games - it usually gives a black screen instead. Is there a better program to take screenshots? How do you deal with Flash game screenshots? Is it acceptable to take screenshots of windowed games and then crop everything outside the window?

The combination of Fraps / HyperSnap DX has never failed me so far. For windowed games it is allowed to capture the window along. Cropping is fine too.

Here's an example of a screenshot for an Adobe Air game.

For a single screenshot just press alt+printscreen that automatically crops it to the current window.

You can also capture Flash with the free version of FRAPS, which allows periodic captures. I haven't tried capturing an AIR application though, but I assume it to work the same.

Thanks, both of you. Those solutions work like a charm!
