Are you a blocker or a racer?

The Sylvester Stallone Formula One racing flick turbos to the Nintendo GameCube.

In Story mode, you follow the skid-mark adventures of cagey vet Joe Tanto (Stallone in the flick) as he tries to reign in young hotshot Jimmy Bly (Kip Pardue), whose cool is beginning to go south under the pressure of a fast-lane lifestyle. Tanto is haunted by memories of a horrible accident years before and must come to terms with his past if he wants to help his protégé net the checkered flag.

As you progress in Story mode, you can unlock hidden cars and tracks. In all, there are 12 drivers to choose from, each with unique personalities and driving styles. The eight tracks include Angel's Bay in California, downtown New York traffic (!) and the English countryside.

Driven GCN also features Arcade and two-player Multiplayer modes.

More so than in most race games, Driven emphasizes teamwork, with one driver blocking to ensure that his partner can capture success for the team. As in the movie, flawless driving will usher a player into a peak-performance "zone."

GCN-exclusive enhancements include fast load times, steady 60 frames-per-second action, improved handling and four all-new music tracks.

The sound effects played a key role in the movie and development house BAM Studios has labored hard to bring all those growling engines and screeching brakes to video-game life in glorious Dolby Surround Sound. The film's talent contributed their vocal talents, including Sly's very own humming. It sure doesn't hurt that the Nintendo GameCube has some of the niftiest sound-processing gear this side of a fancy-schmancy stereo.

This inaugural GCN title from BAM! Entertainment delivers high-octane arcade action. Progress is saved to a Memory Card (not included).

Driven for the Nintendo GameCube is in stores now. Driven for the Game Boy Advance has also been delivered to stores.

BAM! ENTERTAINMENT SHIPS DRIVEN™ FOR GAMECUBE™

First True GameCube Racing Game Hits North American Retailers This Week San Jose, Calif. (March 26, 2002)- BAM! Entertainment (Nasdaq: BFUN) today announced that its explosive racing game Driven for Nintendo® GameCube is shipping to stores this week, making it the first true racing game available on the platform. Developed by BAM! Studios Europe, BAM!'s first GameCube project results from the company's multi-year, multi-title relationship with Franchise Pictures and is based on that studio's movie of the same name - starring award-winning actor Sylvester Stallone. In addition, Driven for GameCube is slated to ship in time for the European launch of Nintendo's next generation console in May of this year.

"The team has been able to achieve some fantastic results with the GameCube technology and we strongly feel that Driven fills a need for GameCube owners and racing fans alike," said Bernard Stolar, President and Chief Operating Officer of BAM! Entertainment. "We are pleased that our first GameCube project was delivered by our internal development team."

Driven immerses players in the high-adrenaline world of competitive cart racing. Arcade, Story, Championship and Multiplayer modes allow players to experience life both on and off the track, racing as one of 12 drivers. With smooth arcade-style handling, players will enjoy eight exciting tracks in either single or multi-player modes on tracks ranging from the sunny speedways of Angel's Bay in California to the heavy traffic of downtown New York. A personality-led style of racing, Driven places the emphasis on the driver's abilities, rather than the cars, with one of the unique features being the ability to get into "the zone'', where players are rewarded for flawless driving with improved handling and increased speed.

Driven is currently available for PlayStation® 2 and Game Boy® Advance. Driven for GameCube is rated T for Teen and will be available at most major retailers this week at an estimated retail price of $39.99. For more information about BAM!
