In ancient Japan, a ninja soldier was respected for his stealth and scouting abilities. Shinobi is not your average ninja. Opting for the direct approach, Shinobi plunges into 20 levels of sword-slashing, shuriken-tossing and magic-casting.

The world has been overtaken by the ruthless lord Ahira-o. To restore harmony to the land, Shinobi must recover the five elemental swords and defeat the Shogun masters who protect them.

Tricks of the Trade

As your journey progresses, Shinobi gains new abilities. You will learn the arcane arts of ninja magic, double jumps and more. After obtaining the double jump, you can return to previously completed levels to reach hidden areas that were previously inaccessible. By completing specific level objectives, you can earn special ninja honors.

Graphics

Each character has been 3D rendered and animated for precision movement on the per-pixel level. The colorful backgrounds feature generous parallax scrolling effects to complete the visual package.

The Revenge of Shinobi pays homage to classic side-scrolling action games from the 16-bit era while introducing high-tech graphical effects. Put your ninja skills to the test!

Le retour du vénérable et légendaire Ninja !

Il y a très longtemps, durant l'Age de la Haine, régnait un puissant seigneur de la guerre du nom d'Ashira-o. La population se souleva contre lui, mais sa maîtrise des éléments lui donna le pouvoir d'écraser toute résistance. Par la suite, lorsque la situation sembla désespérée, cinq Shogun unirent leurs forces dans une dernière tentative pour renverser Ashira-o. Grâce à l'association de leurs capacités, ils parvinrent à l'emprisonner dans leurs cinq épées élémentaires. Les Shogun rentrèrent chez eux en héros, mais connurent un funeste sort. Les armes commencèrent à corrompre leurs maîtres et, à leur tour, les Shogun subirent l'influence néfaste des éléments qu'ils avaient employés pour emprisonner le maléfique Ashira-o.

Ils s'éloignèrent bientôt de la population, construisirent des forteresses et levèrent des forces. Ils se montrèrent rapidement plus cruels que la terreur qu'ils avaient vaincue et les ténèbres s'abattirent de nouveau sur le pays. Des armées entières ont été incapables de triompher des Shogun des éléments. Cependant, une nouvelle tactique, celle du ninja invisible, devrait permettre de s'emparer des épées élémentaires et de libérer le pays de la malédiction d'Ashira-o. Ceci réclamera un guerrier au talent exceptionnel, un ninja initié à la discrétion, à la force et aux arts mystiques.
