Duel to discover the secrets trapped in artifacts. You star as an apprentice duelist. Your brother, Sam, gave you his Duel Masters card collection before heading off on an archeological expedition. He will need your help!

Using his cards, you will duel your way from local shop tournaments to becoming a world Duel Masters champion. By defeating opponents, you increase your card library with booster packs.

Significant enhancments since Duel Masters: Sempai Legends GBA include an extensive tutorial (which you can skip) and a handy PDA, the Gizmo, that displays all your stats and stores prebuilt decks.

The Gizmo also serves as a complete reference to the card game. Along with a glossary of terms, the Gizmo contains explanations of card types, special abilities and deck-building and game strategies. The Gizmo also lets you trade with a friend via the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable.

The main duel interface is similar to that of Sempai Legends. Ulike the last game, though, your character wastes no time getting into duels, tournaments and trading, which are the game's strengths.

Bottom Line

Duel Masters: Kaijudo Showdown greatly improves on its predecessor. Fans of the first game should really enjoy this one.

Duel Masters: Kaijudo Showdown starts off in the city of Larkwell. Your older brother, Sam is heading off on an archaeological expedition.

As he is about to leave, he gives you his collection of Duel Masters cards. This is the beginning of your path toward becoming a Kaijudo Master.

With Knight as your guide, you duel your way up from shop to the regional tournaments. Along the way, you challenge true masters like Hakuoh and Kokujo as you delve into the mystery of the missing artifacts. Your brother needs your help and shadowy characters offer anything in exchange for the artifacts you seek.

Your friends (and sponsors!) wait and watch. Can you master each of the Civilisations and save the world from certain doom?!
