**ELECTRONIC ARTS RELEASES SIMCITY 3000 UNLIMITED FOR THE PC

Definitive Edition of 1999's Top Selling PC Game Features New Disasters, Building Sets, Scenarios and much more**

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 18, 2000 - Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: ERTS) today announced the release of SimCity 3000 Unlimited, the definitive version of 1999's best-selling game, SimCity 3000. The new title, available for PCs, features all the great gameplay of the original game plus several new features including two completely new building sets, thirteen challenging scenarios, a scenario creator, new disasters, customizable terrain, seasonal city events and a new tool for users to create their own buildings.

"SimCity 3000 Unlimited is the ultimate SimCity experience," according to Christine McGavran, the lead producer for Electronic Arts' line of city-building games. "We've taken the most requested features from SimCity 3000 fans and added a bunch of our own to create this definitive edition."

One of the most visually stunning features of SimCity 3000 Unlimited is the addition of two entirely new sets of buildings: Asian and European. Hundreds of new buildings, from the red-tiled roofs and windmills of a Dutch farming village to the glass skyscrapers and pagodas of Tokyo, combined with the original game's North American building set give players a worldwide selection of options as they create their ideal cities.

While SimCity 3000 is famous for its open-ended, no winning or losing gameplay style, there are many players, especially casual gamers, who enjoy the challenge of reaching a specific goal. For those players, SimCity 3000 Unlimited comes packed with over a dozen scenarios. Virtual mayors can fight crime and corruption in Moscow, reunite East and West Berlin and rebuild a city after an ecological disaster. Players can even create their own scenarios with the new SimCity Scenario Creator and trade these over the Internet.

Top on the list of fan requests were more disasters to torment their resident Sims with, so SimCity 3000 Unlimited delivers four new disasters in addition to all of the hair-raising calamities from the original. Whirlpools sink ships pulling into harbors. Flaming pieces of space junk fall from the sky. Green toxic clouds deliver building-dissolving acid rain on areas of heavy pollution. And plagues of locust descend upon farmlands.

Other new features include the new Building Architect Plus tool that allows players to model their own homes or imaginary buildings and see them in their games. Players now have the freedom to create the perfect setting for their cities with terrain they can edit. And in SimCity 3000 Unlimited, cities can experience holidays and seasonal events such as a winter ice skating rink, fireworks stands for the Fourth of July, a parade for New Years or Thanksgiving, a haunted house with trick-or-treaters and flowers in the spring.

SimCity 3000 Unlimited is available in stores now for a suggested retail price of US$39.95. The title may be ordered directly from the EA Store at http://www.eastore.ea.com or by calling 800-245-4525. Current owners of SimCity 3000 who purchase SimCity 3000 Unlimited between now and June 24, 2000 at participating software retailers will be eligible for a $10 rebate by mail on their SimCity 3000 Unlimited purchase. Details regarding this rebate offer are explained in the certificate found on the front of the SimCity 3000 Unlimited box. More information on SimCity 3000 Unlimited can be found on the Web at http://www.simcity.com.
