Sega brings the classic Japanese arcade puzzler Puyo Pop's indescribably addictive wares to PS2. Just. One. More. Go.

Fans of cutesy puzzle games rejoice - the Sonic development team have turned their collectively skilled hands to creating the latest Puyo Pop title. Originally a sublimely addictive Japanese arcade game that enslaved all who played it, Puyo Pop Fever is a puzzler in the same vein as Puzzle Bobble, Tetris et al. Gameplay-wise, the general idea is to match up corresponding colours that fall into your area in an attempt to scupper your opponent's similar exertions in the other half of the split-screen, and well, that's about it really. The premise may be alarmingly simple, but don't let that fool you, this is one fiendishly playable and immensely enjoyable little title.

Delightfully animated with an array of manga-style characters who further tip the cuteness scales with their wide eyes and super-happy ways, Puyo Pop Fever will appeal to anyone with a predilection for charming Japanese artwork. And when you've finished cooing over the ultra-pretty graphics, there's always time for a spot of two-player battle fun. Play against the CPU, or take on a person you like to call 'friend' in versus mode - just don't expect to remain on good terms after a few bouts, mmmkay? The addition of the Fever mode to the mix ensures even more frantic action, with the ability to create chain reactions that produce seriously devastating results for your hapless opponent (insert evil laugh here).

  • Eye-strokingly pretty graphics, with manga-style characters
  • Unleash chain attacks on your opponent
  • Go head-to-head with a friend in two-player mode
