A Multiplayer MasterpieceMetroid Prime Hunters delivers an engaging single-player experience, but without a doubt it's the multiplayer arena where Hunters shines. The game features seven multiplayer modes of play, over 20 battle arenas, and seven bounty hunters to choose from, each with a unique alternate form and special weapon.Four players can compete using just one game card, and additional features and modes of play become available if each player has his or her own copy of the game. With Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, you can put your skills to the test against other players from around the world. You might be able to school your little brother, but how will you stack up against the globe's elite bounty hunters? For more details on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection multiplayer gameplay, stay tuned to www.NintendoWiFi.com.Multiplayer ModesHere is a quick overview of the seven modes of play in Metroid Prime Hunters, available in both local and online play.Battle -- Anything goes in Battle Mode, where your goal is to eliminate your opponents in a timed deathmatch. Rack up more kills than your competitors to score a victory.Survival -- In Survival Mode, you begin the game with a limited number of lives. The goal is simple -- drain your enemies' stock of lives before your own runs out and be the last hunter standing.Bounty -- Fight for the possession of an Octolith and be the first hunter to deliver it to the drop point to succeed in Bounty Mode. This is pure bounty hunting at its finest.Defender -- Defender is how bounty hunters play King of the Hill. Secure the designated area and accumulate points while you are the only hunter to occupy it.Prime Hunter -- Gain the coveted enhanced powers of the Prime Hunter, and see how long you can keep them while the competition tries to end your reign. Keep Prime Hunter status the longest to win.Capture -- Your goal in Capture Mode is to raid the enemy team's territory and steal their precious Octolith. Score when both Octoliths are safe at your base.Nodes -- Explore the arena to find Node Rings, and earn points while they are under your control. The hunter who reaches the point goal first will win the match.Adventure ModeIn the single-player Adventure Mode, Samus embarks on a quest to find powerful relics left behind by an ancient warrior culture. But Samus isn't the only bounty hunter on this mission. Along the way, she'll have to fight off the galaxy's most elite hunters who hope to harness the power for themselves.* Hone your skills and unlock bounty hunters for use in Multiplayer Mode by completing the single-player adventure. * Explore multiple stages collecting Octoliths, and prevent other bounty hunters from stealing them along the way. * Engage in brutal boss battles at the conclusion of each stage. * Classic Metroid puzzle-solving is mixed with intense shooting action for an all-new Metroid experience.

The HuntersEach of the seven bounty hunters in Metroid Prime Hunters has a unique alternate form and special weapon. Which hunter will be your favorite?Samus -- Samus Aran is well-known throughout the galaxy as an efficient and experienced bounty hunter. Few other hunters can compete with Samus's long history of successful missions, most of which were carried out against seemingly insurmountable odds.Trace -- Trace is a Kriken, one of the most hated and feared races in the galaxy. Every Kriken, when he reaches a certain age, is exiled by its clan for a rite of passage. Trace is currently in exile, traveling the galaxy looking for planets to expand the Kriken empire.Noxus -- Noxus is a member of the Vhozon, a proud and reclusive race that inhabit the outer rim of the galaxy. A spiritual being who walks a harsh, righteous path, Noxus has become a Bounty Hunter to administer justice to the galaxy’s criminals and evildoers.Spire -- Spire is thought to be the sole remaining Diamont, an ancient race of silicon-based lifeforms whose bodies are composed of organic rock. Spire travels the galaxy as a bounty hunter searching for information on the location, or fate, of the rest of his people.Sylux -- Little is known about the mysterious bounty hunter known as Sylux, other than the fact that Sylux harbors an intense hatred for the Galactic Federation and the bounty hunter who has helped the Federation time and time again -- Samus Aran.Weavel -- Once a powerful Space Pirate General, Weavel was critically wounded during an altercation between the Space Pirates and Samus Aran. With just his brain and spinal cord still functional, his body was fused with a mobile life support system.Kanden -- A lab experiment gone awry, Kanden was created to be the ultimate soldier. However, stress from the neural combat encoding sequences was more than Kanden’s still-mortal brain could handle, and left him ferocious, deadly and dangerously unpredictable.Bottom LineFrom its stunning graphics to its super-smooth gameplay, Metroid Prime Hunters showcases the awesome power of Nintendo DS. The Adventure mode is a fun diversion, but it's the multiplayer action that will keep you playing this game for years to come. With Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, you'll always have a pool of hunters waiting to challenge your skills.Metroid Prime Hunters hits store shelves on March 20.

KEY INFORMATION

A mighty race, now extinct, has left behind relics of their once-powerful warrior culture. Now bounty hunters from across the galaxy are racing against each other to lay claim to these relics to harness their power for themselves.* Compete in a series of action-packed arenas. * Try out at least three modes of play, with game-play features similar to Deathmatch and King of the Hill. * Link wirelessly with up to three friends. * Six new bounty hunters, including Noxus, Spire and Kanden, fight against Samus in both single-player and multiplayer modes. * All hunters have their own unique back stories, weapons (from sniper beam to mortar to shotgun) and fighting styles (i.e. stealth, melee, sniper, etc.). * Single-player details will be revealed at a later date.

Game Storyline: In the most distant reaches of space, beyond the territories controlled by the Galactic Federation, is the Tetra Galaxy, once home to a mighty race known as the Alimbics. An advanced civilization, peaceful, prosperous and powerful, the Alimbics maintained stability over the region forcefully but judiciously. They reigned over a vast region known as the Alimbic Cluster. One day, perhaps thousands of years ago, perhaps tens of thousands, they simply disappeared, leaving behind artifacts, all scattered across the Alimbic Cluster, all protected by a lethal arsenal of the Alimbics' most advanced weaponry.

Today, for the first time in centuries, the long-dormant Alimbic System is stirring, delivering strange tidings. A telepathic communiqué, originating in Alimbic Cluster, has downloaded into the brains of some of the most exceptional beings in our galaxy. The message translates into a thousand different languages on a thousand different worlds. But the message always is the same: "The secret to ultimate power resides in the Alimbic Cluster."

This message has intrigued and enticed some of the most formidable bounty hunters in the galaxy to make the long journey to the Alimbic Cluster, each of these great warriors motivated by a different reason. Some desire power for themselves, or for their planet or people, while others simply have a relentless desire to hunt, or to kill, along with a fierce determination to prove themselves the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. Now, it's a race against time to see which bounty hunter will triumph over the others, who will discover the secret behind this promise of "ultimate power."

The Galactic Federation has heeded this strange, suspicious communication as well, and has called for the help of Samus Aran. Her mission: to discover the truth about this mysterious message, to protect against a potential threat, and to keep the Alimbics' ultimate power from falling into the wrong hands.

Characters: Samus and six new bounty hunters, including:

Noxus: Noxus is a member of the Vhozon, a proud and reclusive race that inhabits the outer rim of the galaxy. A spiritual being who walks a harsh, righteous path, Noxus has become a bounty hunter to administer justice to the galaxy's criminals and evildoers, to keep the scales of order from tipping into instability and chaos. Noxus, like his many bounty hunter compatriots, got the message from the Alimbic Cluster about an opportunity to find a source of ultimate power. He's determined to get to it first, to make sure it does not fall into the hands of lawbreakers or the unworthy.

Spire: Spire is the sole remaining Diamont, the last member of an ancient silicone-based race whose bodies are composed of organic rock. Spire's life as a Bounty Hunter takes him from one end of the galaxy to the other, while he continually searches for some information on the location, or fate, of the rest of his people. When he receives a message from Alimbic Cluster, he races to that system with the hope that finding the Alimbics' source of ultimate power and solving the mystery of their lost race will help him solve the mystery of his own.

Kanden: A lab experiment gone awry, Kanden was created to be the ultimate soldier, immortal and unkillable. However, stress from the neural combat encoding sequences was more than Kanden's still-mortal brain could handle, and left him ferocious, deadly and dangerously unpredictable. Kanden broke out of the lab, and those responsible for his neurological alterations and surgical enhancements were not left alive. Still, there is one way that a brutally efficient killer in the galaxy can not only survive, but thrive: as an intergalactic bounty hunter. Unbound by morals or a conscience, programmed with an instinctual drive to hunt – and kill – Kanden is one of the very best. When he gets a message of an ultimate weapon in the Alimbic System, Kanden knows that this is his chance to prove himself the finest bounty hunter of them all.

How to progress through the game: In multiplayer, compete against your friends in at least three different modes. Chose from Samus or any of the other six bounty hunters and find out who really is the best hunter in the galaxy.

In Space Nobody Can Hear You Scream...

**At least not until now! Metroid Prime Hunters launches with wireless voice chat technology

13th March 2006** – The wait for the interstellar bounty-hunters, and gaming's toughest heroine is finally over as Metroid Prime Hunters launches across Europe on 5th May 2006. This game features touch-screen controls, Wi-Fi game play, a fully-fledged single player 3D first person shooter mode as well as an extensive online multiplayer first person shooter mode. For the first time on a Nintendo DS game, Metroid Prime Hunters include wireless voice chat technology allowing players to talk with friends before and after battle, whilst using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and microphone, wherever they are in the world.

Raised by an ancient alien race, Samus is the galaxy's top bounty hunter, utilising her advanced Varia suit to give her near super-human powers and using an arm mounted cannon to blast her way past any opposition. Now Samus has been hired by the Galactic Federation to recover powerful alien artefacts before deadly bounty hunters get their hands on them. In space there's no law and no back up, Samus will have to use all of her skills to return alive.

Featuring some of the most advanced 3D graphics for a held-held system, playing Metroid Prime Hunters brings you the great graphics seen in Metroid Prime on Nintendo GameCube with the added benefit of it being on a portable handheld system. The vast single-player mode in Metroid Prime Hunters is among one of the most exciting seen on a hand-held console to date and the game can also proudly claim to be the first multiplayer first person shooter to grace a hand-held system. While playing, the fast-paced seamless levels are displayed with perfect clarity on the top Nintendo DS screen, while a map and radar showing enemy locations is visible on the bottom.

The gameplay possibilities that the Nintendo DS can offer really allows Metroid Prime Hunters to stand out from the rest. Players use the Nintendo DS d-pad to walk around while the stylus is used to look about the area and aim their weapon, much like a PC based First Person Shooter. The stylus control allows players to turn and target with pinpoint accuracy. Icons strategically placed on the touch-screen also allow players to switch weapons and convert Samus into her Morph Ball form with ease.

The fun doesn't stop there either! You might have proven yourself against intergalactic bounty hunters in the game's single player mode, but there is still much more to experience with the game's expansive multiplayer modes. Metroid Prime Hunters features numerous online and offline multiplayer modes, allowing players to compete locally with friends using the Nintendo DS wireless link and then battle people across the globe thanks to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service.

Players without access to Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection service can use Single-Card Play to enter battle in a selection of arenas with three friends, using only one cartridge. Or if all players have copies of the game, they can engage in one of the game's seven multiplayer modes in Multi-Card Play with a selection of seven characters and ten arenas to choose from.

Playing Metroid Prime Hunters using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection allows players to take their newly honed skills and show them off to players around the world for free* using their home broadband connection or one of Nintendo's public Wi-Fi hotspots. Players can select Find Game to play against opponents from across the globe, chosen by their skill level or battle friends from the list saved on their Nintendo DS in Friend's and Rivals mode.

Prepare for the ultimate space mission as Metroid Prime Hunters goes on sale across Europe on 5th May 2006 at the estimated retail price of around ÂŁ30.
