In LostMagic, designed by renowned art director Yoshiharu Sato, peace in the world is challenged by a new evil force. The only hope lies with the wizard Isaac and the seven magic wands left behind by the creator. Monsters wield unimaginable power in this realm, and as Issac, the player will use the stylus to unleash magic spells and command numerous monster squads in magical battles.You'll experience strategy like never before. LostMagic’s innovative RTS-type RPG makes full use of the unique capabilities of the DS. Control your units directly on-screen using a point-and-click interface that PC strategy gamers have enjoyed for years.Thanks to the Wi-Fi capabilities of the Nintendo DS, you can challenge friends over a Wi-Fi connection. In a world after the "Creator" has passed away…

He left humans 6 types of magic (earth, water, fire, wind, darkness and light) and 7 wands.

The Sages given the 7 wands were called "Guardians of the World", and they carried on the task of protecting order in the world.

Thousands of years have elapsed since The Creator passed away.

The task entrusted to the "Guardians of the World" continued to be passed on from teachers to students, along with the Magical Wands. People knew nothing except Peace.

However, the world was changed by one thing. People, who forgot how to revolt against their destiny, lost all their hopes…and became trapped inside deep despair.

Amidst the chaos in the world, only one small light of hope remained. The boy with the "Wand"… His journey begins now.

Cast a spell around the world with LOSTMAGIC

So you´ve raced around the world, travelled to towns thousands of miles away and you´ve started sending lines of Tetriminos to the far corners of the earth. Now it´s time to prove your prowess with online sorcery.

Have you got what it takes to become the world´s most powerful magician?

Ubisoft´s LOSTMAGIC for Nintendo DS is part RPG, part real-time strategy game, and presents you with both a thrilling solo adventure and the possibility to take your magical skills online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Shown from a top-down perspective, the game puts you in the shoes of a young mage called Isaac, who must summon monsters and unleash spells in order to restore balance to the world, with the aid of seven magical wands left behind by its creator.

Pressing the L-button and drawing a combination of six different elemental runes - with your stylus acting as a magic wand - allows you to cast over 300 different spells. Fire runes cause explosions and light runes help heal your fellowship, while dark runes allow you to capture the enemies you´ve slain – thus building your army of ferocious warriors with unique skills and possibilities to use to your advantage.

The casting of spells takes place in real-time, which adds a considerable amount of pressure to the gameplay; as you try to draw the symbols fast enough not to suffer too many attacks, while at the same time trying to draw as accurately as possible for maximum magical effect.

The touch screen ensures smooth control over your characters; tap Isaac to activate him and tap elsewhere to move him to the intended location. Additionally you can draw a circle around your beastly warriors to group them – much like you would in a PC strategy game – and then send them off where you need them to go. As your experience grows, you´ll be able to expand your army, but it´ll take strong tactics to choose the right team for the job at hand.

Playing the game over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection allows you to create your own characters and confront players worldwide in the game´s Duelling Mode, thus turning LOSTMAGIC into a title where you can truly show off your skills for the world to see.

With artwork by the acclaimed Yoshiharu Sato (from the well-known Studio Ghibli, responsible for such animated masterpieces as Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke), LOSTMAGIC boasts a wonderfully rich adventure for lonesome wizards, plus the perfect platform for Wi-Fi aficionados to show off their spellcasting skills.
