The engine's running on Ubisoft's cel-shaded stock-car series. Not only does the Wii Remote controller represent the center column on a steering wheel, it literally becomes that thanks to the steering wheel included free with the game. The steering wheel has an inset where you place the Wii Remote, and gamers tilt the wheel to drive in the game similar to how they would drive a car.Because GT Pro Series is going for a simulated racing experience, the number of buttons used are small. There's acceleration, gear shifting and two ways to break: racing made simple. If you press the B Button, the camera switches from a behind-the-wheel view to an in-front view so you can see the competition on your tail. Hopefully, you'll be so far ahead you won't worry about who's behind you.Racers will get their driving gloves on more than 80 Japanese-produced autos, with an opportunity to win after-market upgrades and dominate the competition. The different races on the circuit will call for you to drive multiple types of vehicles, so you'll need to learn the feel of how different cars race.The cel-shaded graphics deliver a unique style to the racing genre, although more time could have been spent to improve the overall quality of the graphics.Bottom Line
Although the graphics are somewhat disappointing, GT Pro Series gives race fans an alternative to the arcade-racing Wii launch titles.
