Update #2: It's here, it's here! Update: Wing Island will be available at the wallet-friendly price of $39.99! That's $10 more friendly than other Wii™ titles!

When the Nintendo Wii™ launched last November, we all immediately fell in love with it. There are plenty of party games, all of which are great, but there weren’t any flying games, which would be perfect for the “Wiimote.” That is, until now! Introducing Wing Island!

Wing Island is the first Wii™ game that lets you experience flight using the Wii™ controller as a natural extension of your own hand! The Wii™ controller features an accelerometer (yes, that's a real word!) that senses motion, allowing users to control aircraft like real pilots. Forget the analog stick! The Wii™ controller acts as the yoke of a plane. Tilt it up and planes climbs in the air. Tilt it down and planes dive. Twist it left or right and planes performs barrel rolls. Pretty simple, eh?

What’s unique about Wing Island is that often times you can fly in formation with other planes. You take command of an aircraft squadron that can change formation with the press of a button. Understanding flying formations is the key to accomplishing a mission's goal. Flick your wrist and your squadron will perform special tasks specific to the formation they're in. For instance, suppose there's a fire on the ground and you need to cover more area with your water drops: it's better to fly your planes in a spread formation rather than as a cluster. With incredibly intuitive controls, anyone can pick this game up and have a blast. What's more, two players can go at it via split-screen in a series of competitive tournaments!

In story mode, you play as Junior, a pilot who happens to be a bird. You’re left in charge of the family aviation business and it’s up to you to help people out. The storyline revolves around missions specific to each of the islands in the game. Missions range from popping balloons to putting out fires to dropping cargo. For instance, one mission may have you saving an ocean liner in distress as a fire blankets its exterior hull. Too much excitement for you? How about a more serene mission that has you exploring the island in search of an elusive cow? Found her? Cool, now you gotta take some pictures to prove it!

Completing missions like these puts money in your pocket, which you can then use to upgrade your plane. Upgraded planes fly faster, perform better aerobatics, and carry more types of cargo. As you progress in the game, the islands’ missions become increasingly difficult. But with a wide variety to things to do there's always fun along the way!

Game Highlights: * Your hand becomes one with the plane, using the Wii™ controller. Your plane rolls, turns, climbs, and dives as you move your hand! * Split-screen multiplayer support for two players. See who can pop the most balloons or have a sky racing derby! * Unlock new planes that can go faster, carry more cargo, do more aerobatics, and more! * Find the lost cow, save the ocean liner, free the blimp, race your rival - Wing Island has variety of missions and environments await you and your team of sky workers. Do you have what it takes?
