The Mission

Dark Vengeance screams to life with the onset of an ancient evil that has blotted out the sun and brought forth the scourge of the land, the Dark Elves. Having vowed revenge on the people of Amagar, the Elves swarm across the surface destroying everything in their paths in search of vengeance. The players' goal is to exact their own vengeance against the enemy and end the reign of death and disaster plaguing the land.

Character choice that matters

Fighting as one of three distinctive characters, players control not just their character's physical appearance, but their actual combat style. While the Gladiator glories in hacking opponents with his massive battle axe, the Trickster outwits her foe with traps and gadgets, and the Warlock vaporizes the enemy, literally, with deadly magic spells. Additionally, each character has their own personal reason for seeking revenge (outlined with in-engine cut scenes) making each game a completely unique combat experience, not to mention infinitely replayable.

Unprecedented breadth of weaponry

Dark Vengeance's combat system allows a range of weaponry unlike any action game before: hand to hand, short ranged, long ranged, tricks, traps, potions, and spells. Choose from nearly 40 weapons including Thunder Hammer, Titan's Mace, Zap, Skipstone, Staff of Dust, Acid Brew, and Frozen Claws. Dark Vengeance also boasts defensive skills like blocking and dodging.

Groundbreaking 3D Combat

Unlike many action games, Dark Vengeance isn't just about hacking and slashing your way through the enemy. It's about learning your enemies' fighting styles and characteristics to determine the best way to combat them. With three characters there are three completely different styles of combat to choose from. Gamers who prefer brute forcing their way through trouble will prefer the Gladiator. Those who enjoy the power of magic will choose the Warlock, and the players who like inventive tricks and traps will prefer the Trickster. Dark Vengeance provides a style of combat for every gamer.

The Battleground

From the sacred halls of Amagar, to the Dark Elves' rat infested underground caverns, and aboard the scarred hull of an eerie enemy ship, Dark Vengeance takes players on a heart-pounding journey over dynamic indoor and outdoor terrain. Dark Vengeance blends multiple environmental styles seamlessly throughout the game, creating a truly immersive experience. And, while playing through this strangely realistic world, the player will encounter the enemy at every turn. Using Dark Vengeance's advanced AI, enemies will retreat, follow, and command each other in attacks ike they have minds of their own. Fight against truly unique and creepy beasts such as the Scorpion Woodbot, Stained Glass Knight, Necromancer, Cherubim, Acolyte, and Yggdrasil.

Multiplayer gaming gets real

The Dark Vengeance network system supports up to 32 players and 64 voyeurs with dynamic jump-ins, cross-platform networking over TCP/IP or a LAN, plus packet management for optimized play on the Internet. But the fun doesn't stop there. With three distinctly different characters, each with their own unique weapons and abilities, multiplayer gaming gets real. No more 'staring into the mirror' at opponents who look and play just like you. In deathmatches, it's little against big, might against magic, brains against brawn. Team games become true cooperative battles. Dark Vengeance adds a whole new level of combat realism never before seen in 3D action games.

Optimized for latest 3D hardware

Dark Vengeance fully supports MMX® technology to offer high resolution software rendering. In fact, every feature and special effect is optimized to look great in software, but some things are just meant for hardware. Dark Vengeance supports the latest in 3D accelerators as well as AGP technology. An assortment of special game features are enabled by 3D hardware including 16/24-bit graphics resolution(s), high quality textures, magic effects, weapon swipes, particle bursts, steam jets, missile trails and exceptionally cool explosions using Dark Vengeance's fantastic colored lighting.
