Im Rahmen einer packenden Geschichte über Idealismus und Verrat dreht sich A New Beginning um das wichtigste Thema unserer Zeit. An Schauplätzen auf dem ganzen Globus, gilt es die Welt zu retten – wenn sie denn überhaupt noch zu retten ist.

Der Wissenschaftler Bent Svensson hat seine Forschungsarbeit an einer umweltfreundlichen Energiealternative widerwillig aufgegeben. Doch im Ruhestand bekommt er merkwürdigen Besuch: Die junge Fay behauptet, aus der Zukunft geschickt worden zu sein, um einen bevorstehenden globalen Klima-GAU zu verhindern. Die einzige Chance die ultimative Katastrophe zu verhindern seien Bents Forschungsergebnisse, die in die Hände eines skrupellosen Industriemagnaten zu fallen drohen. Bent entschließt sich der jungen Frau zu vertrauen – doch erzählt sie tatsächlich die Wahrheit?

Der Spieler übernimmt in A New Beginning die Kontrolle über die beiden Protagonisten und erkundet die detaillierten, handgezeichneten Hintergründe klassisch per Point & Click. Die mehr als 30 Charaktere werden mit großem Aufwand in Zeichentrickfilm-Qualität per Hand animiert.

A New Beginning: New adventure Game Announced

Hamburg, Germany: August 21, 2007. Telling emotionally captivating stories is the declared aim of Daedalic Entertainment. At this year's Games Convention, the publisher unveiled the first internally developed project.

A New Beginning is a cinematic, interactive eco-thriller. In the classic adventure game an impending global climate cataclysm threatens the world, in a story ripped from today's headlines, dealing with the defining issue of our time. At locations all around the globe, players will have to try and stem the tide - with the whole world hanging in the balance.

In A New Beginning, players take control of two protagonists and explore the detailed, hand-painted backgrounds. The more than 30 characters are rendered in a realistic 2D style and are painstakingly animated by hand in feature film quality. Many challenging puzzles and adventurous situations have to be overcome to prevent the impending climate chaos. The ambitious adventure game project is in development for PC, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii.

Scientist Bent Svensson has had to give up on his life's work of trying to engineer an eco-friendly alternative energy source. But his existence as a reluctant retiree is interrupted by a most peculiar visitor: The young Fay claims to have been sent from the future to prevent an impending environmental catastrophe. The only remaining hope is Bent's research which is about to fall into the hands of an unscrupulous energy magnate. Bent decides to trust the young woman - but is she really telling the truth?

Daedalic Entertainment will present A New Beginning exclusively at this year's Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany (August, 22-25) to international press and trade visitors.

A New Beginning to Hit UK Retail Stores on May 20, 2011 - Lace Mamba Global Reveals New Details and rtwork on the Eco-Thriller Scenario Game

Brighton, March 23, 2011 – A New Beginning, the latest, and multiple award winning adventure game by Daedalic Entertainment, is now set to hit the stores throughout the UK on May 20, 2011.

A New Beginning features several playable characters in a stunning eco-thriller scenario that reflects the current fears of a climate cataclysm. Players will see the world in two different time scenarios – today’s present, and the future showing a devastated earth in the year 2500: By then, climate change has made the surface of planet Earth a hostile, uninhabitable environment and decimated the population to a small group of survivors.

A group of time pilots is assembled to execute a hazardous plan: To prevent climate change from happening, they will leap back in time to the past. But the plan ends in shambles…

Arriving in the year 2050, the team is faced with a planet already in the grips of a devastating climate change. London is flooded, Sydney is enveloped in flames, the Taj Mahal swallowed up by desert sands, and Moscow buried deep under snow and ice.

But there is one person whose projects could help to avert the climate change: Former bio engineer Bent Svensson lives isolated in the deep forests of Norway. As the head of an innovative research project developing an eco-friendly alternative energy source he was just about to accomplish his lifework. But a stroke of fate forced him to hand over the project to his son.

The team of time travellers will have to find Bent, tell him that Earth will be destroyed by the consequences of climate change and to encourage him to pursue his research to save mankind from certain destruction...

A New Beginning is a classic point & click adventure game and features eight chapters of beautiful hand-drawn locations and characters. The game was recently awarded three trophies at the German Developer Awards, including awards for “Best Story” and “Best Soundtrack”.

Lace Mamba Global plans to publish A New Beginning in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, the Benelux countries and other European territories. The UK release is scheduled for May 20, 2011.
