R-Type DX

R-Type's intricate graphics and intense gameplay will take you back to an era when side-scrollers ruled the arcade. The simple task of blasting bad guys and dodging bullets has inspired many gamers to drop mass quantities of quarters, and now this experience has been recreated on Game Boy Color.

R-Type DX contains five different R-Type games, in a virtual museum of side-scrolling shooters. Players can experience R-Type and R-Type II in their original black and white Game Boy formats, or play color-enhanced versions of the time-honored titles. The fifth game, R-Type DX, combines the first two games into a seamless outer-space assault.

R-Type DX is swarming with enemies and packed full of power-ups. The action is fast, with formidable bosses lurking at the end of each level. There is no save feature, but players can continue indefinitely while trying to blast through the battalions of enemy craft.

The original versions of R-Type and R-Type II are backwards compatible with the original Game Boy systems, but R-Type DX is only available on Game Boy Color.
