Deep in the heart of Pac-Land lies the small, hidden village of the Pac-People. In the centre of the village grows an ancient tree with five Golden Fruit. Legend has it that as long as the Golden Fruit remain undisturbed, Pac-Land will be bountiful and everyone, even the littlest Pac, will be happy.
The adventure begins at night when all the Pac-People are asleep and a silvery moon shines from behind gathering clouds. Several Ghosts sneak into Pac-Village to cause mischief and they unwittingly pick the Golden Fruit. Suddenly, the tree begins to shake and lightning flashes across the sky. The tree begins to rise up and from the darkness beneath, red eyes open and an evil laugh echoes out. Spooky has been released from his prison!
The Ghosts cower as Spooky commands them to hide the Golden Fruit throughout the land. Without the Golden Fruit, Pac-Village will be helpless to resist Spooky and the Ghosts.

Das punktefressende Energiebündel ist wieder da! Aber dieses Mal geht's richtig zur Sache. So farbenfroh und gutaussehend wie immer schnupperte Pac-Man 1999 zum ersten Mal die Luft der großen, weiten 3D-Spielewelt. Anlass war Pac-Mans 20. Geburtstag, und er feierte ihn mit der Original-Pac-Man World auf der PS one. Und jetzt ist das powerkapselgierige Dickerchen wieder auf der Suche nach einem neuen Abenteuer, in dem es sich erneut mit seinen luftigen Erzfeinden Inky, Pinky, Blinky und Clyde herumschlagen muss.
Als die nichtsnutzigen Geister wieder einmal nichts Gutes im Schilde führen, und sich eines Nachts in das geheime Dorf der Pac-People einschleichen, entfesseln sie unbewusst eine neue, noch tödlichere Gefahr - den Geist Spooky! Dieser stiehlt die heiligen fünf goldenen Früchte des Dorfes, und befiehlt den Bettlaken-Gestalten, die Beute an verschiedenen Orten im Land zu verstecken. Als Pac-Man ist es Ihre Aufgabe, sich auf die Suche nach den Früchten zu begeben, die Bösewichte unschädlich zu machen und dem Dorf seinen Schatz zurückzugeben.
Pac-Man World 2 bewahrt den Charakter und die Einfachheit des Spielhallen-Originals, und stösst zugleich in die Action-Welt von 3D-Plattform-Abenteuern vor, womit es seine klassischen Spielelemente mit modernem Gameplay verbindet. In einer Spiellandschaft, in der Sie Punkte, Power-Kaspeln und andere ausgesuchte Pac-Leckereien in sich hineinmampfen, treffen Sie auf Gestalten, die Ihnen seltsam vertraut erscheinen, aber auch auf einige neue Gesichter!

The Pac is back.
One of the most well-known and well-loved video game vets is coming to Nintendo GameCube. His name is Pac-Man, and if you don't know him by now then you've been living a deprived existence. Allow us to introduce your new spherical big-mouthed yellow friend.
Pac-Man World 2 is a sequel to the original Pac-Man World, which was created to celebrate Pac-Man's 20th birthday. N64 gamers familiar with Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness should know what to expect in Pac-Man World 2. Namco has taken the classic Pac-Man pellet-munching theory and injected it into a light-hearted action/adventure game. The result is an instantly fun Pac-Man adventure with lots of new twists and fun surprises.
Plot has never been a major player in Pac-Man games, but Namco always makes an effort to scrape together a storyline. This time around, we learn that way back in ancient times an evil ghost named Spooky plagued the Pac People. A brave knight named Sir Pac-a-Lot defeated Spooky and imprisoned him using the power of Golden Fruit created by the Great Wizard Pac.
Set in modern Pac-Times, Pac-Man World 2 opens with a humorous cinema scene starring Blinky, Pinky and the rest of Pac-Man's ghostly adversaries. The mischievous ghosts pluck the Golden Fruit, which frees Spooky from his shabbily-guarded cell. Liberated and angry, Spooky enlists the help of the Ghost Gang to carry out his evil plan to destroy Pac-Land.
With the pesky plot taken care of, the real fun begins. Pac-Man's goal is to retrieve the Golden Fruit and defeat Spooky by exploring six large worlds. Each world is made up of multiple levels crawling with enemies, platforms and switch puzzles. The action takes place in 3D environments, but Pac-Man is normally confined to a fairly linear path through the level.
Pac-Man can do much more than just run and eat pellets these days. The orbicular idol can roller blade, ice skate, swim, jump and even execute the ol' Butt Bounce. Press and hold the B Button to make Pac-Man perform a Rev Roll, which launches him full-speed into enemies or through the air. By eating Power Pellets, Pac-Man can gobble up ghosts. When he eats a metallic Power Pellet, Pac-Man can walk underwater or over lava. Creative level design ensures that you have every opportunity to take advantage of Pac-Man's many new moves.
The great thing about Pac-Man World 2 is that it simultaneously challenges players of varying skill levels. Guiding Pac-Man to the end of the level is fairly simple, but finding all of the Pac-Dots and fruit in each level is very difficult. Pac-Man can also find special maze challenges in each world, which provide 3D interpretations of classic run 'n' munch Pac-Man arcade gameplay. If you complete the maze, you can play it whenever you like at Sue's Arcade in Pac Village.
Sue's Arcade features other games as well, including the original Pac-Man game, Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Attack and more. To unlock these great bonus games, you'll have to find tokens hidden throughout each level. Even if you find all of the bonus items in the game, you can continue to challenge yourself by attempting to clear levels as quickly as possible in Time Trial Mode.
A nice mix of innovation and nostalgia, Pac-Man World 2 has what it takes to satisfy players of all skill levels.
