Back of Box

Despite the eye-popping graphics found in the recent crop of first-person shooters for the Game Boy Advance, the refreshing gameplay in Ecks vs. Sever is what makes it a cut above the rest.

In the planned movie of the same name, Ecks and Sever are government operatives out to off each other, until they realize they are pawns in a far more sinister conspiracy.

As the game unfolds, you play as Ecks or Sever through 12 missions. Each agent can access an arsenal of weapons from sniper-rifles to grenade launchers.

Most missions involve running and gunning, but exciting twists and high-tech gadgets keep things interesting. Adding to the tension is the fact that Ecks is male while Sever is female.

BAM! effectively doubles the number of missions by drastically altering the mission experience with each agent. For example, one mission requires both Ecks and Sever to plant a bomb, then escape quickly. But each must take radically different routes.

In addition to the sprawling single-player experience, Ecks vs. Sever goes above and beyond the standard frag-fest with its frantic multiplayer modes. As many as four players can race to assemble and plant a bomb or choose sides in a battle over the life of a VIP. Multiplayer action requires GBAs and Game Paks for every player and enough GBA Game Link cables to connect all systems.

Ecks vs. Sever on the Game Boy Advance packs the punch of a .44 Magnum with first-rate graphics and many single and multi-player features.

Progress is saved through one-word passwords. Ecks vs. Sever has been rated "T" (Teen) by the independent Entertainment Software Rating Board and is in stores now.
