" Sega GT 2002 has a wide selection of such parts, including several stages of exhausts, air intakes, intake manifolds, lighter chassis, performance chips, shocks, brakes, tires, turbos, intercoolers, and gearboxes that you can purchase for almost any car. Because Sega GT 2002 is constantly forcing you to dump money into your car, you'll develop a sense of ownership to it, especially since you won't be able to afford dozens of cars at once like you can in Gran Turismo 3. Instead, you'll find yourself treating each car that comes into your possession--no matter the make or model--with a sense of pride. And when it comes time to part with your pride and joy, you can set your own selling price that you feel is reflective of the hard work and upgrades that you've poured into it. " - GameSpot

" The car models themselves are accurately modeled, and the textures in particular hold up very nicely at close range. Likewise, the environment boasts very impressive lighting that throws shadows and reflections off of car and track surfaces realistically" - GameSpot 82%

" It's because they're so polished and detailed that they look real, at least as far as the cars go. The models are dizzyingly impressive -- the lighting and reflection effects really make them come alive. As you'll spend most of your time in a first-person view mode, the place where you'll enjoy these looks most is in the game's post-race replays. You can swap angles and such, as you'd imagine, and if you place high enough, you'll also be able to snap photos, which will be displayed in your garage. Marvelous graphics; respectable depth; long shelf life. 85%" - GameSpy

" Easily the best racer of this year, Sega GT 2002 has also become a serious competitor to reigning king Gran Turismo 3. A- score " - Gaming Age

"SGT 2002 will not disappoint in the graphical or aural department either. Some can (and many already have) make a case that these graphics are better than the best from GT3." - Gaming Age

" This is a game for racing simulation fans, for Sega GT fans, and for anyone who likes Gran Turismo. There are just enough extras and different modes to really make this game a must-have. Wait, let me just add that you may like Gran Turismo, but you will love Sega GT 2002." - Netjak.com

" The level of detail on the cars was excellent and the detail on the tracks was even more phenomenal. The cars looked like they just came off the Detroit line (or the Japan line, depending on what you’re driving) and even though there’s no actual damage it awesome to look at the cars. The tracks are just as fun to look at. From the sand, to the grass, to the actual pavement, to the surrounding buildings, and even the helicopter that follows your drag racing event, you get a great sense of the detail. Be careful and you’ll be crashing yourself on the wall because your sight-seeing." - NetJak.com
