Out of the theaters and into your N64, Toy Story 2 stars the pint-sized heroes of the big-screen epic.

Mr. Potato Head, Hamm, Slinky, and Rex make star turns in Activision's newest action Pak, but this is pretty much Buzz's show. The space ranger with the big heart (even if his brain doesn't exactly move at the speed of light) rambles through backyards, construction sites and back alleys in search of old pal Woody, the pint-sized victim of a nefarious toynapper. All making cameos are new stars Jessie, a rootin' tootin' cowgirl; Stinky Pete the Prospector; and Bullseye, Woody's faithful horse.

Working hard to re-create that big-screen experience, co-developers Traveller's Tales and Disney Interactive have packed this Pak with an impressive amount of music and voice samples from the movie. Starting in Andy's House, players move in and out of the 10 levels, collecting items, solving puzzles, playing minigames and toying with various troublemakers. There are also several boss levels.

Graphically, Toy Story 2 is an impressive step up from Activision's Tales first Disney title, A Bug's Life. Pop-up remains a problem, with items and enemies suddenly appearing in mid-air. Setting up Buzz just right for Toy Story 2's many tricky jumps will take careful switching between the Pak's Active and Passive cameras.

Buzz is caught up in quite a social whirl. In most levels, he'll collect 50 coins for Hamm; get tips from Rex, a very chatty dinosaur; seek out Little Bo Peep's missing sheep; and collect Mr. Potato Head's missing body parts. Other tasks include rounding up plastic soldiers, racing RC Car and even bouncing off a rubber ducky. Meanwhile, tiny toy robots are always trying to disassemble Buzz, permanently!

Despite the camera-angle problems, Toy Story 2 is a fun Pak that should prove mightily satisfying to fans of the movie.
