DescriptionDefeatMe is an experimental shooter by Kenta Cho. Played on a single screen, the player needs to take out one or more enemies before a horizontal line, moving from the top to the bottom of the area, hits the player's ship. The twist is that in contrast to the Cursor*10 games where the player cooperates with his past actions over multiple levels, in this game the player becomes his own antagonist, as each successfully completed wave introduces a new enemy that mirrors the player's action in the past level. That way, shooting economically is needed to keep playing, as the player needs to be able to outsmart himself over multiple levels.
The game was created at the wonderfl site where the source code is published along with the game, and where it can be altered, adapted or forked on the fly. That way, there are custom variants of the game, as well as an "official" one by the developer where each new enemy introduces a new weapon.
