The game has a story that can be accessed from the menu.

The Instructions option from the main menu brings up this single screen. The objective is to free squirrels by disposing of toads but there's no FIRE button, Skunny must jump on them

This is in level 2. There's the prison. To free the occupants Skunny must dispose of the toad but first he must find his golden nuts

Not all insects are bad. Here one gives Skunny a lift over a wall
