Ganz ohne spielerische Erweiterungen geht die CD-ROM-Version von Digital Integrations Tornado ins Rennen. Genau wie das gleichnamige Flugzeug, ist auch die Flugsimulation eine rein europäische Entwicklung. In Zusammenarbeit mit der Britisch Aerospace und der Royal Air Force wurde diese Simulation entwickelt, die in Szene-Kreisen als die bisher realistischste gehandelt wird. Im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen Simulationen wurde bei Tornado auf einen durchgehenden Handlungsfaden verzichtet. Im Mittelpunkt des Spiels steht ein Missions-Editor, mit dem der Spieler sich seine eigenen Einsätze konstruieren kann.
